Is there any other similar code that I can use? Should I just go ahead and settle with 10% AAA discount or should I wait to see a discount similar to H442 appear. Thanks. You can go to amtrack's web site. try booking two adult tix (w/o AAA discount) and enter code h459 to see it will give you a good discount. Order the tix at least 11 days ahead of time and fill in the form to have them mailed to your home. your all set! DO NOT CALL TO USE THE CODE!!! Do it through Amtrack website and have tickets mailed to u! If its more than a simple round trip, take your time and use http://tickets.amtrak.com/itd/amtrak/ComplexRail this link to book it online and have tix mailed to u! Have fun! :p :-: |
h459 worked
Thanks kmart shopper for your quick reply. When I applied h459, I got $360 total as compared to $406.80 with my AAA discount.
I am going to go ahead and book the fare. |
codes for round trip from NYC to Syracuse
Hello. I need some help. I've found so many promotion codes but none are working for me. Does anyone know a code for a single person traveling round trip from NYC to Syracuse, NY? I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks so much. |

North East Corridor
Can someone please recommend a code for 1 adult traveling between NYC and WAS. I saw the Rhode Island code but as I am not going that way I am not sure if it still applies.

h459 worked but then got cancelled :(
I needed some information about the trip so I called Amtrak. They asked me for information about the travelers. I told them that it is me and my wife.
The agent said that h459 code was for Campus Visit only and since neither of us is a High School Junior or senior, she cancelled my discount. I ended up cancelling the entire reservation becuase the price was not something I could afford. |

also, FYI,the v626 rate only comes up with the promotional code. it seems it can not be combined with any other discount. the r/t rate dropped to 92.00 from 115.00 with this code. it was only 103.50 with AAA and it would not accept the code as a stacked discount. @:-) |
Amtrack AAA Discounts?
When I looked up rates under Adult &/or child and then "adult AAA" &/or "child AAA," I noticed the AAA rate was more than the regular rate. Anyone else notice this? Am I inputing something wrong? I was looking to travel from Ventura, CA to Chico, CA.
Thanks in advance! Altmed |

The purpose of this thread isn't necessarily a "Can you help me find a cheaper fare from X-Y?" but a place to share information on available discounts. Before asking for help, please try to help yourselves. If available, the terms & conditions of each code is posted below. If your travel meets these terms & conditions, then try test-selling - choose the fare you're most comfortable with. We welcome the new folks here readily, but I would like to request that if you're looking for a specific fare, that you realize that the majority of us are not travel agents and that although we're willing to help you out, it's always appreciated if you try to help yourself first - then maybe we can help you out a little more. Thanks! ***Please post on this thread if a code is old & doesn't work anymore OR if you've found a new one that does work & I will try to keep it updated.*** Tips from Amtrak - Tips for Using Promo Codes (thanks dberry!) It usually only takes about an extra 10 minutes. When doing test sells, I recommend trying to do it off of the AAA rate first - if that doesn't work, try doing it off the regular rate. Check the last few pages for current codes - I’ll try to keep this updated regarding current Amtrak promos & codes – if I slack off on it, I apologize in advance Hope this helps people out! |
CHI - Dallas codes / advise
First time train traveler here looking for advise. I'm looking for codes any code for the Texas Eagle train between Chicago and Dallas. I don't have AAA, military, college / HS student, etc... just one adult and one 4 year old.
I've tried just about every code on this forum and haven't found one that works. Current fare is $135. Also, I wanted to know if anyone has been on that train before and what are the chances it will be full traveling mid-week at the end of this month? Thanks for the insight! ^ |
Texas Eagle
I don't have any code suggestions other than the ones posted at the beginning of the thread, but I have ridden that train several times (Dallas to Bloomington/Normal). It was seldom full during mid-week any time of the month. Good luck on finding a low fare!

CODE V626 Success
Greetings one and all
I just traveled on Amtrak over the weekend and have a positive report. Code V626 can be used for a 20% discount anywhere along the North East Corridor, even if travel does not include Rhode Island as the code says. I used V626 on travel from NYC to Washington DC. I also used it from Washington DC to Baltimore and then back to Washington. Finally I used it from Washington DC to New York City. All without any hassle. And as an added bit of information, you can use this code, and any others, at the automated ticketing machines. Safe travels! |
V626 can be used for places other than RI and can be use the day of departure
It has worked for me from BWI to PHL and BWI to NYC and does not need the three day advance.
