I got a couple of coupons for free companion from Amtrak guest rewards "select status". It doesn't say whether they are transferable and no one at Amtrak has given me a straight answer. Anyone have any experience with this?

Are there any discount codes out there that will work on the Lakeshore Limited between Boston and Syracuse?

Just tried to price a trip from NYC to BOS leaving this Friday and returning Sunday using the V626 code and it said that the code was not valid for a date selected - seems like there is a holiday blackout on this, tried a Saturday departure and it still didn't work - just went NYC-Baltimore the weekend before last, also leaving Friday and returning Sunday at similar times, and the code did work. Guess it is the bus for me, at least it takes almost the same amount of time on this route.

i'm a first time traveller attempting to go from FARGO to SEATTLE sometime in june... i just graduated college, but i have my student ID still. how can i do the student advantage thing if i just graduated? and what codes can i use to get the cheapest fare? help! i have no idea what i'm doing!!

Do you have the Student Advantage card or just a regular school ID? The SA card is what you'll need to qualify for that fare. The AAA card is another option for you perhaps? Look at the sticky post for possible codes. The best way to figure out the best one is to test them all. Go to amtrak.com and price all the codes. Also check the weekly specials under "Hot Deals. Your train is listed there for most of the month. Hope that helps! Cheers!

V626 does not work from 9am to 659 pm Friday and Sunday and on Memorial Day, July 4th Monday and Labor day... on those weekends, travel all day Sunday is permitted.

Under Weekly Specials (Amtrak.com) fares on the Crescent (Washington-New Orleans) are marked off 70% July 5th thru Aug. 31st.
You still have to check the dates, but it's worth a try :)

Need help with codes for Pittsburgh to NE Corridor
 

I've been using the V626 code for the NE Corridor regularly for some time. However, I can't get any of the codes on this forum to work with a trip from Pittsburgh to Philly or other NE Corridor stations on The Pennsylvanian line. Any tips? Thanks.

I have found the code V166 works on trains going through chicago for 10% off - it even worked on one ways for me. Its a code to visit the American Girls exhibit in chicago. Unknown expiration.
