Does anyone have Silver Star (91 & 92) or Silver Meteor (97 & 98) Codes? I'm looking to 'ship' my 2 teenage daughters from Ft. Laud to Orlando for spring break at low-low rates. TIA. :)

You can go to amtrack's web site. try booking two adult tix (w/o AAA discount) and enter code h459 to see it will give you a good discount. Order the tix at least 11 days ahead of time and fill in the form to have them mailed to your home. your all set!

I need some help. I'm trying to get the best rate on 3 adults from outside Pittsburgh to NYC. I've tried codes h505, h507,v756,v753,v730,& v755. And of course no luck. We are going next week and I'm running out of time. Can someone please either help or point me in the right direction? THANKS

i looked at the h459 code and it says that it is only good for high school students traveling with a parent. Has anyone used this code before that didn't fit these criteria? Does Amtrak verify these things? Thanks.

That particular code is a SPECIAL deal for visiting campuses and does require signature from school counselor and they do check it at the ticket office.

But , instead of getting the ticket from the ticket office, I requested Amtrak to mail the tickets to my home. Could you please tell me if we will still get verified? And How?

Since this is my first time to take Amtrak, could you kindly tell me what the exact procetures are in a major station after I arrive the Amtrak with my tickets already in my hands? Thank you so much!!

And, I double checked the latest Term and Condition for the promotion code H459. It doesn't require any signature from school counselor. It requires " bring it with you when you pick up your tickets". That is the reason I requested to mail my tickets. And It doens't require any birth certifications too. That is why I don't know how they gonna verify us.

I used the H459 code for two Amtrak tickets although we are not high school students.

On my ticket, under the " Restrictions", it says " VALID PHOTO ID REQUIRED/QUALF, DISCOUNT OFFER/ASK FOR RESTRCTIONS" ; under the "FARE PLAN", it says "UOFC-H459".

On my husband's ticket, under the " Restrictions", it says " VALID PHOTO ID REQUIRED/COMPN, DISCOUNT OFFER/ASK FOR RESTRCTIONS";under the "FARE PLAN", it says "UOFC-H459".

I wonder if we will be stopped and verified when we are boarding. Should I return the two tickets and buy another two full price ones? I will travel from Chicago to New York. Any advice? :confused:

i would just try it. I've never been asked for ID once on the train. I've ridden amtrak about 20 times...

I've never been asked on the train - however, if you are traveling other than open seating/first-come first-serve the agent will want to see your I.D. to issue your seat assignment. If that person "catches" your H.S. student code, you could possibly end up forking over to full fare.
