$50 statement credit for purchases made at Saks. Enrollment required prior to purchase.
Online orders do not charge until shipped. Many items are carried in-stock by Saks and eligible for ShopRunner shipping - data points suggest that these will charge and ship quickly.
However, many other items on Saks(dot)com drop ship from the manufacturer. For these, expected delivery dates may not be reliable, are not guaranteed, and orders cannot be cancelled easily.
If you place an online order close to the end of an Amex credit period, there is a risk that your item may not ship (and Amex will not be charged) until after the end of the credit period.
Note on shipping & billing times: If a product shows that ShopRunner shipping is available, it is shipped by Saks and is likely to ship and bill quickly. If there's no ShopRunner option, it is likely drop-shipped from the manufacturer meaning the shipping date and actual charge date will be further out.
Things known to count for the credit:
- This benefit is available twice a year, once from Jan-Jun and once again from Jul-Dec.
- Use it or lose it, does not rollover or accumulate. There is no "meter" to track how much you've spent. Check your statement for credits.
- Per AMEX CS chat the transaction date is what determines whether a purchase is reimbursed from the Jan-Jun benefit or the Jul-Dec benefit.
- Actual experience from 2019: first-half purchase submitted only 6/27, shipped 6/29, went from pending to posted on 7/1 (but dated as 6/29), credit posted on 7/1, was able to use second $50 credit a week or two later
- Purchases by Additional Card Members (both the $175 Plat-colored and free Gold-colored) will be reimbursed also, but only up to an aggregate $50 per Account.

Things known to count for the credit:
- Merchandise purchased in Saks stores or online
- Physical gift cards purchased in-store
- Physical gift cards purchased online (min $150)
- e-gift cards (these are fulfilled by a different vendor)
- anything bought at "Saks Off 5th" (however, you can use a Saks gift card at Off 5th...)
$50 credit at Saks 5th Ave every 6 months with Plat card (2018 - 2021)

The wiki says some items ship direct from the manufacturer.
"many other items on Saks(dot)com drop ship from the manufacturer. For these, expected delivery dates may not be reliable, are not guaranteed"
Does this apply to Kiehl's or Tweezerman? I saw several comments about ordering their products but not about shipping time (and bill date). Thanks.

I'm going to try this in July as I've already used the saks credit earlier this year. I wish the PayPal credit would be continuing so I can double dip but I'll be happy if just the Saks credit works for an off saks purchase.

Just ordered a single Kiehl’s product and it was shipped from Saks. It might depend on the product so YMMV. It didn’t seem like a drop ship since all the packaging was Saks. Mine shipped within two days of the order as well.

A saks purchase of <$50 (ie. $45) will still triger a saks statement credit correct?

- Get up to $50 in statement credits from January through June and up to $50 in statement credits from July through December. That's up to $100 in statement credits annually.

Yes -- I ordered a number of small items in November adding up to $55+tax and they shipped in 3 separate shipments spread out over November and December. Charges were posted (and credited) separately as each shipment occurred.

Earlier comments said that you can earn the credit when using PayPal at Saks Off 5th. It shows up as Saks charge and gets reimbursed.
Saks Off 5th sells both e-gift cards and physical cards. Only the physical one works with PayPal. Unfortunately it incurs $10 shipping but they sell $25 and $50 cards. Shipping is waived if you add a non gift card item.
I don’t know how long it takes to bill.

IMO it is a bit risky to try paypal+platinum loophole...
Technically good deals can be found at Saks.com without any tricks if you are patient.
I bought a Tumi wallet for close to 50 when it's on sale and sold it on eBay for the same price, got 36 back to offset the AF.
However it is too much hassle to me and I'm quite reluctant to do it again. I only sold it because it was too big to my likings.
Trying to look for deals on saks is quite a chore...but I definitely don't want to pay inflated prices. So many items are sold at full prices when you can find much lower prices at other retailers.

Thanks for the info. I tried to use the PLT card at Saks off 5th physical store for a GC but it didn't work. Luckily both Saks and off 5th allows full refund of unused GCs.
