I applied at ~10:45 am (PST) and just got approval email, so about 30-40 min. I thought that they caught on the hacking and they put my application on hold. I am still waiting for my husband's approval email, though...
I just checked and his says approved as well online, but we are still waiting for the email.

Same here, I applied today around 11am (Est) and got instant approval email. After 10 min later, my husband applied it, and no approval or any application email. After 30 min later, he received an application email and indicated that the application is upon review.

I applied this morning and was told it was under consideration, never got an approval email, but i just checked on the site referenced and it says approved.

2nd Delta AMEX
Got (and still have) the Delta AMEX 9 months ago. Anyone try this for a second Delta AMEX card? Any previous experience with other double AMEX cards? Seems to be fine with Citi and BoA, but I don't have any experience doing it with AMEX.

Heh, heh... Whatever you want to call it. I had visions of us being banned by AmEx and Delta (not to say that my husband has no idea that I applied him for another CC 
.
But it seems that the delay in our case was due to the fact that they thought we have to much credit with them, so they cut our credit limit on another Amex.

The first rule of Flyertalk is "Don't call". Wait until you receive your card. Call in to activate it and confirm the offer at that time. Otherwise, you may alert the CSR to this "situation" and run the risk of ruining the deal for everyone else who hasn't yet gotten aboard.
What were you planning to do if the CSR tells you that the offer is 30K? Demand 70K when this is clearly a targeted offer that you don't qualify for? Best to wait and see what happens.

applied for the wife, got the pending page, and amex application status shows approved. Took screen shots of the offer just in case....although that probably goes without saying.

I applied and got the 14 day wait message, then checked the AMEX website and it had a status of "canceled". I called AMEX and the automated system then told me that the application was approved. It will be interesting to see if I actually get this card.
FYI - At the beginning of September I applied for and received both the AMEX SPG Business and Personal cards so maybe this had something to do with the conflicting info I have received.
