Ignore the non-US location by my username, as my referrals are for US cards. I can refer for the 50K AmEx Platinum offer ($3,000 spend in 3 months) and the Hilton HHonors Surpass card (40K HH for first purchase plus 20K with $3,000 spend in first 92 days). On the AMEX website it says that I am preapproved for the Platinum. I currently have the PRG. The offer that I have gives 25K bonus points. It sounds like some of you guys are getting a 50K offer. How can I get in on that for upgrading?

Welcome to Flyertalk. The offers discussed in this thread are for new applications, not upgrades. When you use a preapproved upgrade there is no credit inquiry and you may keep your current card account number. If you submit a new application you may receive a larger bonus, but many offers exclude existing cardholders which means you would first need to redeem all of your Membership Rewards points, cancel, and submit a new application.

Amex Premier Gold referral
My mother wants to apply for this card and wants me to send her a referral. The current offer to refer for 10k MR points is gone as of 2/13/12. Is anyone aware of any other way to get referral points for this card? Has anyone tried to contact Amex and offer a referral user in exchange for the referral fee?
