I just cancelled my Amex Platinum Aeroplan before paying the yearly fee this year, and I would like to sign up for Amex Platinum before the fee goes up. If someone wants to send me a referral link so I could get 30,000 bonus miles for signup, that would be appreciated. Win-win I think, unless there is a better bonus right now that anyone knows of.

Correct to all 3 points, that's what my brother did recently to get $399 but new benefit for the next year
If you want to maximize signup bonus, I can refer you so you get 30K MR (while I get 15K)

I'm not sure but if you can find it in your Gold online account, you may be able to refer yourself also, although you may not get a high bonus (I don't recall)
I just checked in my Business Gold, same deal as my AMEX Platinum account on "Refer a Friend" under "Membership Rewards & Benefits" tab
As the Basic Cardmember, refer a friend and you4 could earn a referral bonus of 15,000 Membership Rewards® points for each approved referral5

I must say Amex is great in honouring bonus points. I got a referral link for 30000 bonus, as soon as my friend spent $500, he got the points in his account within 2 days.

For those of you looking to jump on the Canadian plat card before the $699 fee hits, I found a targeted link for a 20k MR bonus after first use. It appears you'll need to be an existing Amex card member for this to work.
