Apologies, I tried reading most of the thread but did not find my answers. First question might be dumb, so sorry... I understand that I can earn on BA marketed flights, any circumstances that I can use a BXP2 or BXP3 on BA metal?
Valid on flights marketed and operated by American Airlines or American Eagle, ticketed on American Airlines ticket stock (AA001). Not valid on flights operated by other airlines under a codeshare agreement, including codeshare flights marketed as American Airlines. To my eye, this condition was inserted specifically to exclude BA (or IB, AY, CX etc. etc.) metal flights, even when they carry an AA flight number. |

My wife used a paper BXP1 last week. She was able to check in online. She was told the physical cert wold not need to be collected.
Did you check to make sure the BXP1 is no longer valid? |

How does one check this?
I was going to do that because I am afraid they will take an electronic one instead of the paper one. |

I was wondering, because they didn't pull mine (situation the same, paper BXP1). I totally forgot and was wondering if I should call in.

You can return it via the new quick procedure. Depending on how you feel about that.
Vs. the uncertainty if points don't go back, whether it was supposed to or not? |

I had a cert expiring June 30 (J transcon planahead or whatever they call it), hadn't been able to find any inventory for Aug/Sept/Oct/Nov. Voided, scanned, emailed it on June 30. Two days later received an email, sorry you couldn't find inventory, points returned to your account. I checked and sure enough, the points are already there. All thanks to FT members' advice.

I know BE awards are roundtrip, but will they let you one it to return to a different city on the same BX1A award?
I would like to fly TPA-DFW-FLL |
Planning on using a BXP1 to upgrade a OGG-DFW leg on my OGG-DFW-MCO flight. If I booked OGG-MCO with G class would I be upgraded to business/first or would it be upgraded to premium economy?

I upgraded G fare by BXP1 before. BXP1 doesn't work with B, N, O Q, S fare. |
I usually redeem for Business class AA Anytime BX6E from North America to LHR. The taxes are usually $2xx round trip.
This time I am redeeming for a Business class partner award BP03 (North America to Europe). I'm flying AA metal from USA to LHR, and BA from LHR to TLS. The taxes were over $1100 round trip. Does using a partner award charge BA YQ on the AA transatlantic flight, even though it is AA metal? The AA flights are booked as AA (not BA codeshare), and the BA flight is also direct BA (not AA codeshare). |
