Hi all, long time reader first time poster. I was just wondering if anyone on this thread knew whether the private conference room in the AA Arrivals Lounge at LHR needs to be booked in advance and whether there is a charge for booking the room? If so does anyone know how to go about doing so?

So, this might be the perfect solution. We have the early morning AA flight in J (arriving 6:20 am). The airport Sofitel doesn't allow check-in until 2:00 pm. I figure we can just head to the arrivals lounge, freshen up, have a bite, hang out for a bit, and then head off to the hotel.

I really wish AA would have more of these around the world, but LHR is by far their most important business destination so it makes sense to have one there. Elsewhere would be hard to justify.

I really wouldn't want to be in any lounge for almost 8 hours. IIRC the AA arrivals lounge is nice but not that long nice.
I'd have breakfast and a shower there then head over to the Sofitel just to leave the bags there even if they can't give you your room and then head to Windsor or London.

With a 6-hour layover flying Business- arrival in T3 on an AA then departure from T5 on BA should I just head over to T5 after flight lands and use one of the BA Galleries Lounges?

It's up to you. Is that what you want to do? You won't find too many people here who think spending many hours in the Galleries Lounges to be a great experience.
We've had 5 hours and grabbed an uber to Windsor. Walk around for a couple hours. Uber back and you'll still have plenty of time. Automated kiosks into LHR (for citizens of select countries, including the US) have made it a breeze to get into to the UK.

If one transfers over to T5, that alone could take 45 minutes to an hour (on bad days) and if one wants to take a shower to freshen up, count on another hour or so. After all this, it might leave ~2.5 hours in the lounge before it's time to head to the gate. They have champagne, even in the Galleries Lounges, one just needs to ask for it

Curious - if I’m on an AA codeshare in BA that arrives from MAD will I have access as an EXP? If it helps I will be leaving on a flight home the next day (less than 24 hours). I arrive around 1:30 and will have about 1.5 hours to kill before I have to leave the airport so this sounds like a nice place to kill some time.

I'm arriving at LHR tomorrow on PHL-LHR in J (presumably T3?) around 10:20AM, connecting on to LX in T2. This was purchased as a single ticket through AA.com. I have a 4 hour layover. What are my best options, if any, for a shower? Is 4 hr enough to clear UK immigration to access the arrivals lounge? How long should I plan for the T3 - T2 transfer if I do that?

I stopped by the Arrivals Lounge which I last visited in 2006 (!) last week.
I asked first for a shower and was told "take number 18". They seem to have over two dozen showers so getting into one quickly was really easy.
The space itself is pretty small but comfortable. I found a seat in an anteroom in front of power (both Europe and UK style outlets).
Breakfast was standard full English type stuff as well as a small menu
There was also a fun little Bloody Mary Bar. Overall I was more impressed than I expected to be.
