11/18 ORD-LAX I got water and I saw another passenger get wine. On my 11/14 flight LAX-ORD, I did get a PDB water, but I don't remember what other people ordered.

PHX to DFW to FLL and the return, we were offered water and juice on each flight. . .seems to be regular service now except if the flight is late and they are trying to rapid board or get out before weather turns sour.

AA2130 JAX-MIA: water, OJ, coffee
AA985 MIA-CLT: PDB of choice
AA5412 CLT-ATL: water only

Different on all three flights, what is the actual SOP or do they even have one?

The SOP: full PDB.
The consequences for FAs who choose to ignore SOP: nil.

BOS-PHX: No PDB offered.
PHX-LAS: No PDB offered. Wrote in to AA to complain about no PDB and was told "While we offer pre-departure beverages for our First and Business class customers, there are circumstances that may prevent our Flight Attendants from doing so. They use their discretion to determine if there is sufficient time – duties may limit their ability to serve beverages before departure."

Neither flight had delays that would have prevented the FA's from performing this service.

11/24

LAS-CLT: PDB offered, although this was one of the weirdest services I've had as an AA flyer. FA served my pre-selected meal first before everyone else, which was a bit of a surprise. Served everyone dessert from a cart after lunch, which was fine. About an hour before landing, they handed out the mixed nuts, then just before beginning descent, the hot towels.
CLT-BOS: PDB offered.

The standard is that there is no standard.

Yesterday IAH/MIA Envoy E175 flight. FA spent the entire boarding time staring off into space.

12/16/2023, AA679 DFW-JAX: No PDB (little boarding delay) but plenty of refills and great service in the air despite it being pretty bumpy the whole way.

I haven't provided any of my own data points from this year, so here it goes:
1/21/23 AA1776 PHL-BOS: Yes, open bar

1/21/23 AA779 BOS-LAX in Flagship Biz: Yes. Tray of Rose or OJ

3/8/23 AA10 LAX-JFK in Flagship Biz: Yes. Tray of OJ, Sparkling Wine, or Water

3/9/23 AA1831 JFK-MIA: No, and for no good reason. Perfunctory service in air

3/15/23 AA1863 CLT-DFW: Yes, open bar. Great service from a group of motivated FAs

3/15/23 AA941 DFW-ABQ: No, despite an on-time departure. Fine service in the air

3/18/23 AA2562 ABQ-PHX: Yes, open bar. Great service, even after a 2 hour delay that the crew had to wait out.

3/19/23 AA634 PHX-ONT: Yes, open bar

4/17/23 AA1763 LAX-LAS: Yes, open bar

5/11/23 AA1861 PHX-PDX: Yes. Sparkling wine or water. Very average service.

5/15/23 AA4900 PDX-LAX: No. Lazy service from a senior FA once in air.

5/15/23 AA1582 LAX-DFW: No, even after the flight was held 20 minutes for connecting passengers.

5/20/23 AA3370 BTR-DFW: Yes, open bar. Always great crews on these flights between Baton Rouge and DFW.

6/29/23 AA1920 PHL-ORD: No, and for no reason either.

6/29/23 AA46 ORD-LHR: Yes. Tray of water, sparkling wine, OJ

7/13/23 AA1856 PHL-BOS: No, despite an on-time departure

7/17/23 AA1185 BOS-PHL: Yes, open bar

8/4/23 AA4215 DCA-BTR: Yes, open bar. Solid service

8/7/23 AA5374 BTR-DFW: Yes, open bar

8/7/23 AA1995 DFW-PHL: No, despite being delayed 40 minutes due to flow control in the Northeast

8/17/23 AA938 PHL-PBI: No, but perfectly reasonable with the late inbound aircraft. Once in the air, first class FA provided a phenomenal service.

8/26/23 AA2208 PBI-CLT: Yes, but water only.

8/26/23 AA1819 CLT-ONT: No. Awful service in the air. Smug, condescending FA.

10/3/23 AA2453 LAX-BOS in Flagship Biz: Yes. Tray of water, OJ, and champagne

10/4/23 AA1185 BOS-PHL: Yes, open bar

10/10/23 AA661 PHL-MIA: Yes, open bar

10/10/23 AA449 MIA-LAX in Flagship Biz: Yes, tray of water, OJ, and Champagne

10/31/23 AA28 LAX-JFK in Flagship Biz: Yes, tray of water, OJ, and Champagne

11/4/23 AA2839 ORD-DFW: No, despite on time pushback

11/4/23 AA2597 DFW-BUR: No, despite on time pushback. Average service in the air

11/21/23 AA2453 LAX-BOS in Flagship Biz: Yes, tray of water, OJ, and Champagne

11/22/23 AA1114 BOS-PHL: Yes, open bar

12/13/23 AA539 LAX-AUS: Yes, open bar. Very solid service.

12/14/23 AA3765 DFW-BTR: Yes, open bar. Great service from the FA with two snack basket passes and refills offered on the hour long hop.

12/15/23 AA5131 BTR-CLT: No, but hour delay and people had connections to make (myself included), so no harm no foul. Decent service in the air.
