Twisted irony is that I've already got EXP for next year on cc spend, will also have it on the paid EQD method and if they actually fly to Europe will have the spend and EQM to qualify legitimately.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Deac83 has kept plat status while having not flow more than 20k miles over 3-4 years but buying status back at ~$1,200 per year (getting it for free this year on the cc deal).

Maybe that's why there is a new regime.

Probably drop the bomb at the end of day before Thanksgiving. As away of giving Thanks to their customers, of course.

Saw JonNYC tweet tonight that the changes are imminent. He has since deleted that tweet so maybe there's more info about to drop?

Damn. Was really hoping for another 1-2 weeks to spread out my QR return flight in Sep 2022 but it is what it is I guess.

I rebook each day but I sincerely doubt we will be able to change dates at today's price. AA knows what people are doing right now.

I just grabbed two 57.5k business class seats SFO to SFK to LHR in March. These will be my last AA business class seats, since my balance is now down in coach-only territory. So glad I checked before the (still rumored) devaluation.

I had planned to burn these miles last August, but schedule thinning eliminated the only same-day connection.

I think as long as there is a reasonable chance to take the trip, it is worth it. I believe they will do at least a +-2 day change accommodations, when the inevitable schedule changes occur.

The tweets are still up:

The rumored AAdvantage changes for 2021 will be arriving very, very imminently. "Different than what was expected/predicted*" --not as broad, would be my guess/read on that, with, undoubtedly some interesting backstory to accompany same later on.

Agreed. I've had to cancel F/J IAD-LHR 2 years in a row because of the pandemic. I'm hoping I'll actually get to go before they totally destroy the value of my 260K miles.

Maybe instead of extending status another year they're giving everyone this year an extra 2 months to earn it back? I could also see them permanently changing the status earning calendar so it begins March 1st, since the current calendar splits holiday travel in two around January 1st (honestly this is such a minor thing but also seems like something people would complain to them about, like why half their holiday trip counted toward last years EQD/etc. but the other half didn't). Guess we'll know soon enough!
