Any issues? I just sent a request for credit off tonight for a US flight for which I didn't get credit (taken July 1).

The miles have taken a long time to post for some flights (5-6 days for a couple of them) but they have posted eventually.

Quite honestly i hope AA considers giving EXP status for life for the 3MM tier or even 4MM.

There's not the slightest, faintest, dimmest hope of that-- zero.

BA offers lifetime Gold (lifetime OWE) status and UA has lifetime Global Services and 1K. I wonder if AA will ever implement lifetime EXP... 5MM? 10MM?

The only way that will ever happen at AAdv is something like "X million miles of post December 1, 2011 miles"

Or, if some thought and effort were really put into it: ""X million miles of post December 1, 2011 miles + 1/3rd of pre Dec 1, 2011 miles"

(Obviously the 1/3rd is a completely speculative fraction, just for demonstration purposes.)

Or, X million miles + x number of years consecutive at EXP (or let's say "x out of x years at EXP.")

But they will parse out (in part or in whole) those "everything goes" miles if they ever try and come up with a level for lifetime EXP and they wouldn't ever be granting lifetime EXP to any member who didn't spend "a majority/plurality of they AAdv life at earned EXP."

Maybe in the new combined program there will be an EXP tier but with the caveat that from that period onwards, only AA metal flights count towards it.

Me neither.

BTW, subsequent to posting above, I re-touched base with someone at I had corresponded with a while ago on this subject and they dropped their objections to me passing along the following; there have, in fact, in recent months, been pretty credible rumors of some up-coming tinkering to the million mile program.

Not sure the timeframe, and nothing "actionable" (nor do I even assume any such changes to be a net negative to members) and nothing I can comment on beyond that. But, the rumors are out there and I personally believe them to be credible.

As I'm currently sitting at 954,800 miles I find this rather disconcerting :(

Absolutely no reason to, many months before any possible announcement and plenty of notice to accompany any rumored change(s). I understand your trepidation, but, still in the rumor/formulation stages.

Miles towards Million Miler when flying by using miles?

When I fly using my AAdvantage miles, do the miles flown be counted towards million miller?

MoreMilesPlease Oct 29, 2014 1:18 pm

No they don't.

Basically, you earn or you spend miles. Award bookings do not normally earn redeemable, elite-qualifying or any other kind of miles.

AA Million Miles Club - Short 3k miles

My total for the AA Million Miles club is over 996k. my total program miles are over 1.1 M (some credit cards purchases that do not count toward the Million Miles). My question is: being just 3k short of the mark would American push me over if I ask?. I have already flown with then over 996k therefore the difference I am short for is very small. I have seen other poster when they are short of the 50k mark for platinum or 25k mark for gold being granted status if the amount they are short for is small.

at the 1 million mark not only you get gold for life but you also get 35k bonus miles that I want to use for a trip to Japan. ;)

No. It's 1 Million Miles flown, not 997,000 miles and a free gift flown.
