Minimum Mileage Guarantee for Million Miler Status

so, i have only been getting the miles flown on AA flights for my Million Miler Status. i reached out on twitter and was told that i should get the 500 (Minimum Mileage Guarantee) for all AA flights (not yet US Airways). i called customer service and was told the exact opposite. does anyone have confirmation one way or the other?

You only get miles flown for MM counter. No 500 mile minimum.

Million miler balance will increment by the actual butt-in-seat miles flown only. :( This is how the programme is set up I'm afraid.

It's a real pain isn't it? I was elite the last few years and did a fair number of RDU-NYC/DCA flights and got shorted quite a few miles because of it :(

Aren't all US and AA code share flights now? If not, can't you, at least, book all US flights on the AA website? Certainly you get BIS miles if it's a code share flight.

I'm taking my first US Air flights next month. I booked them on the AA website and they have AA numbers.

Just hit 3MM yesterday!

Yesterday, somewhere over Lake Michigan, on my flight from DTW to ORD I hit 3MM Lifetime Miles.

US flights towards AA MM/lifetime?

(Have scanned and searched, but haven't seen this question posted yet)

Mileage credit on US Airways is posting to my AA account. When will US flights start to move the needle on lifetime miles? Will AA credit the US mileage from the merger period or will those US travels be lost to the lifetime AA records?

of keen interest, since I'm edging up on the 1MM mark for AA.

(alas missed the 2011 window on non-flights miles counting!)

Thanks in advance!

Nothing yet mentioned, and the reciprocity between programs is on the early stages. However, as in all previous merger, the miles are counted for lifetime status. How will they be counted is yet to be determined.

I think that answers a different question though-- like what will be merged when the 2 programs are fully merged-- and I agree that's unknown (or at least un-commented on officially-- the rumor-mill, OTOH, most definitely has a strong opinion on this.)

But to me it sounds like the OP's question:

Mileage credit on US Airways is posting to my AA account. When will US flights start to move the needle on lifetime miles?

is answered by:

..base miles earned by flying on American Airlines, American Eagle® or the AmericanConnection® carrier or any eligible AAdvantage program participating airline will count towards Million Miler status.
As in, it should be moving the needle, I'd think, from that? And if not, should be enquired about?

I thought all oneworld partner flights count towards MM status so theoretically US should too?

Or are you talking about flights credited to a US DM account? i'm guessing whenever they merge the accounts they will tally all ur miles from US and add it to ur AA MM balance.

Quite honestly i hope AA considers giving EXP status for life for the 3MM tier or even 4MM.

CMK10 Jul 16, 2014 9:34 pm

FWIW, all my US miles this year have added to my MM balance.

Any issues? I just sent a request for credit off tonight for a US flight for which I didn't get credit (taken July 1).

There's not the slightest, faintest, dimmest hope of that-- zero.
