So how many 772s remain? I've got a July 772 flight LHR-JFK and am wondering where I should move my seat to since I'm in the section that is likely to become PE.

12 of the 47 772 fleet have yet to be refitted. And they are flying almost exclusively from LHR to JFK/RDU/ORD/LAX.

I would think that by July, that all 12 will be close to finished. But then again, AA seems to be moving slower on the remaining 45J 772's, and it does seem to take about 5 days longer to refit them since they are removing the J seats.

The 45J 772 also flies JFK-BCN, and it isn't scheduled to switch to the refitted version until October 28 -- the start of IATA Winter season.

Given this date, it would be interesting to see when they restart the refitting of the 45J aircraft. I'm thinking this is a "worst case scenario" date though.

They're 45J, actually. And they started with the first one about 4 weeks ago. For some reason, they are not sending more to PAE for refit yet. But AA's timeline has them being completed well before Q3 2018.

N732AN is on her way back to DFW today (17 Mar). Scheduled to go to HKG tomorrow as AA125.

N733AR is taking her place, flying DFW-PAE tonight. Joins N719AN in PAE. Almost halfway done with the 77W's!

Wiki updated.

Flew PHL-FCO-PHL in PE late February/return mid-March (A330-200)

Outbound - had 7AB / food reasonably good (chicken) - amenity kit was weak - some floppy outer case that is a poor throw away

Return - had 7CD / food poor (some hard as rock beef in cream sauce) - snack after was a groovy salad that was useless - amenity kit different - zippered - much better - flight was frigid

Warning on FCO flight lounges - go to BA even if you have Priority Club - the PC lounge (Alitalia) near the AA gates (E39) is being renovated - does not accept Priority Club members right now.

PE is a decent deal - particularly for the return. Redeye / sleeping a bit tough but on a long. all-day flight, it's fine (particularly for the price difference)

Has anyone experienced PEY on the 332 in the bulkhead? It looks like the 772/789 have exceptional space in the bulkhead making it the preferred option. I'm curious if the 332 has the same generous amount of space for the PEY bulkhead.

N719AN back in action, flew to DFW last night.

N723AN went up to PAE last night to take her place. Almost 50% done (or in process) on the 77W fleet!

Still no movement on the remaining 12 45J 772's.

Sounds like they “swapped” 77Ws and the 12 45J 772s priority which does make sense given the routes the 77Ws flies and the extra work required with resizing the J cabin on the 772s.

I suspect the 788 might slide a little now they are looking at resizing the J cabin as well. Nonetheless the speed of the rollout has been impressive - now if they can do the same for the domestic birds

I’m wondering about this as well. Just booked PHL > FRA in May and the outbound is a 332. I went ahead and selected a bulkhead seat but I couldn’t really tell from the videos I’ve seen how much actual space there is compared to the other seats. I’m rather tall and 10 hours of my big feet pressed up against the bulkhead doesn’t sound very appealing (not that stuffing them under the seat in front of me is a much better option, I suppose).

I just flew in a PEY seat on a 772 (MIA-LAX) in the bulkhead, and I was happy with my choice. I'm 6'0", and I couldn't touch my feet to the wall without sliding forward. The bulkhead is definitely much roomier than the 2nd and 3rd rows on the 772.

I agree, I flew overnight back from DFW to CDG and the bulkhead was very roomy.
i was impressed with the food too, specially the pre landing snack on the outbound to DFW: a superfood salad with quinoa and broccoli, much nicer than the junk I used to get on AA. The main meals were good too.

N728AN on the way to PAE from DFW.

Only 10 non-PE 77Ws active now.
