AAdvantage Buy Back and Boost / Buy Up Status
AA generally offers members reasonably close to requalifying for status near the end of the year the option to buy back their existing status, or on occasion to buy up to the next highest status tier.
These offers are generally made by email to AAdvantage members beginning some time in November.

My EXP offer just dropped to $1495 from $1995 presumably because they have not yet figured out that my EQM from Barclays just arrived. In any event, i was $16K EQD 95K EQM before and so maybe the price has dropped for others.

- When you purchase, the dollars you spend will count towards your 2018 EQDs and your 12-month

I just got a Boost/ buy up offer to EXP -- except I actually qualified (by a hair's breadth) for EXP in December...
My status on the APP does state expiry in Jan 2020, so I think I can safely ignore...but I never took a screenshot of actually qualifying in December.
Should I leave it until Feb or be proactive? I have some travel in Feb, and don't want my SWUs etc to drop off for those trips!

Your offer should disappear from the buy-up page within a week or so, I would think. If it says Jan 31, 2020, you're EXP through Jan 31, 2020 with no risk to your SWU's.

Was offered Gold for $1,689. Not as bad as others - but surely way too expensive. At least this offer was down $500 from my last one. I wonder what % of people take these offers? They should hold an auction - allow us to bid on these things.

I'm a current EP. In 2018 I had the following:
In 2018, you earned 13,557 EQDs, 84,182 EQMs and 42 EQSs.
I have no offer to retain EP.
