I suspect a lot of things.

Did you check your pending transactions on your credit card website?

I truly hope it is $45 and not $450!

Let's hope this doesn't happen regularly from now on.
I don't want TODs and kettles buying my upgrade seats!

This sounds suspicious to me - it seems highly improbable.

Maybe a small test to see if they will do this in the future?
Not that I think they will.

LOL.. you got lucky. It was probably an error somewhere so enjoy! And i don't doubt for a min you didn't double/triple check the price since i would have been shocked as well. Just check the credit card statement after but i doubt that will be an issue. I suspect as someone said earlier someone or the system forgot a zero that worked in your favor.

Don't the kiosks give a receipt? I've never done this, so I don't know the answer, but I'd assume that if they charged a card for $45, it'd spit out a receipt for that amount, and that the OP would know pretty quickly whether it was the price or a glitch where they actually charged her card 450.

But if you pay to upgrade, do you get the extra RDMs/EQMs/EQPs for having paid for a business class ticket?

You earn based upon the fare bucket that you purchased.
