Closing in on the end of the year here.

Be sure to redeem any points that would otherwise expire on 12/31!

Just get tickets man and don't waste the points....and if after you redeem the tickets you still have points that are expiring, use them to get 1-day passes to the admirals club...they will come handy for you or your travellers at some point!

One caution: unlike mileage awards, there is a $150 fee to change biz extra award itineraries, dates.

I was not able to get it credited to our BE account. They were not experienced flyers, non-status on AA and I am 99% sure that they wouldn't even know what BE is.

I'm at the receiving end of this sort of mix-up. From time to time I will find two or three flights posting for people who are not in my company (we're small so I know everyone). I have been in touch with the BE people about this but they say they cannot credit the flights to the correct account if the wrong number has been put on the reservation. Nor would they remove the flights, despite my desire to be honest about these postings. I have no way of knowing what company these people actually work for, though from the flight details it appears to be located in south central USA.

AA Business Extra Upgrade Possible on AAdvantage Award?

Hi,
I have a number of Business Extra points, but have not yet redeemed them. I’m still getting familiar with the program and I was looking at the Upgrade rules and noticed the following:

Within North America or between North America & Hawaii or Caribbean: One segment cabin upgrades. Excludes fare basis codes beginning with N, O, Q or S.

Between North America & Europe, S. America C. America, or Asia (excludes India):
Int’l Upgrade on Discounted Fare: Excluding L, O, S, W, V, or Q
Int’l Upgrade on Full Fare: Valid for use on fare basis codes beginning with J, Y, or B.

I have purchased many AAdvantage Awards in the past, and was wondering if it’s possible to mix these two programs. (I know the rules for AAdvantage awards and other upgrades, just not sure if it’s possible with Business Extra.)
I have had AAdvantage Awards in J and Y and am curious if it would be possible to upgrade such awards to First or Business using Business Extra points.

Thanks!

Not possible.

Noticed the posting of 50 BE points into my account without any flight reference. Has anyone else received such a courtesy posting?

Unfortunately, BE cust svc has been doing this a lot lately. It's happening in our acct several times when they credited flights that I submitted online. These were flights that the system had not credited automatically... it's been my experience that the BE system is very bad at crediting flights, even for people who have put their org's BE number into their personal records on AA.com

Business ExtrAA points to expire

Hi Folks, I have some Extraa Business points that will expire. Is there a way to extend them or is there a trick like for example taking an award on Dec 29 and then reinstating it on Jan 2; they say you have 5 days to reinstate an award. Thanks!

Don't know of any tricks. I just bought some Admiral's Club passes with our to-be-expired points.

I could not get the points "extended".

As far as I know, the expiry dates are real.

The lowest award is an AC day pass for 300 points. If you have enough, you might as well cash out your points for a day pass.

Best deal might be above at 650 points-just redeemed for 4, looking forward to A321T JFK-LAX/SFO to use for one class upgrade(from about $225 to a $3200 ticket). Curiously I also was facing expiration but waiting for other points to post-finally posted, am told award certs to be mailed tomorrow. Also ready for DFW-HNL where about $750 buys a $3200 seat-better than risking no upgrade using stickers, just plat, you know.

I mostly find international so I have AC/FL access...
One way upgrades as EXP is not the best
I guess I'll be looking for a roundtrip ticket and use it one day

AAbruflyer's thread has now been merged into the main BE thread, where there are previous discussions of this topic. If someone would like to add some of these ideas to the wikipost, please feel free!

Admirals club pass

Is anyone else considering an AC annual membership for 3000 points now that AMEX Platinum is dumping ACs? I have 5k points with 1.5k expiring and can't really figure out the best use as I have no firm needs near term.
