Is anyone else considering an AC annual membership for 3000 points now that AMEX Platinum is dumping ACs? I have 5k points with 1.5k expiring and can't really figure out the best use as I have no firm needs near term.
If you do the math, is the AC membership more valuable to you than what you would otherwise spend the points on? |
New Account Summary monthly format
Looks like the new Monthly Account Summary format is back - hopefully for good this time! ^ This will make it much much easier to track activity and point postings!
We got a brief look at it back in October when it was prematurely(?) released, then rolled back a few days later:

Looks like BE is did a soft (or premature) rollout of a new monthly format for accounts/flights/points that should make things easier to track than the current quarterly summary format. Even had data back 2 years.

How and what to do with expiring AA BX1A Award ?
What to do with expiring BX1A Award ?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you would try to use a BX1A Award which is imminently expiring, and usually fly out of Southern Califonia: what to do: Hawaii is not eligible, other flights usually taken / needed are not available in any decent combination nor dates. AA said make reservation than call to redeem the Award--but when you do exactly what AA instructs you to do: then AA tells you that day nor anywhere soon is really not available for BX1A. Very frustrating. |
Help needed, Business ExtrAA award expiring today!
Hate to start a thread like this, but right now I'm stuck at MSP and find out I have a BX3A (Carribeans to US economy planahead reward) award expiring today. I called the ticketing number 1-800-433-1790 trying to see if there's any possibility of extending it, but no go.
So what is the most feasible way of reducing my loss here? Should I just randomly book a ticket to some favorite travel destinations and eat the 150 change fee later on (and btw, what are popular places to go there?). Thanks so much and look forward to seeing your inputs. |

Thanks so much and look forward to seeing your inputs. You both recently started threads in the American Airlines | AAdvantage forum (previously listed as the consolidated forum), which currently is being used to discuss all things related to the merged American Airlines and US Airways operations. As your questions relate to the *current* pre-merger American Airlines, I have merged your posts into the relevant Business ExtrAA consolidated thread so that you can get the answers (and help) for the questions you posed. Should you have any questions or concerns about why your posts were moved, please feel free to contact any of this forums moderators (myself included) or use the "alert moderator to this post" function (looks like a red triangle with black exclamation point in the lower left of every post). /AA forum co-moderator |
If you change an AA Award ticket and pay $150: are you able to change flight #, as long as the depart and arrival city are the same?

Unfortunately, BE cust svc has been doing this a lot lately. It's happening in our acct several times when they credited flights that I submitted online. These were flights that the system had not credited automatically... it's been my experience that the BE system is very bad at crediting flights, even for people who have put their org's BE number into their personal records on AA.com

Are you sure you can't see the award in your account online? Go to the My Account tab, and click in the box on the right that says current activity. (BAD DESIGN! It functions as a dropdown menu, but you'd never know it from the way it's designed.)
From there, click the month you requested the award. You should see your monthly activity there, and when you click on the award itself, you'll see the details you need. Hope this helps. |
Business Extra ("ExtrAA") Program (master thread)
I booked a trip for my brother on the phone yesterday. AA.com wouldn't let me do it once SWUs were applied which is why I was calling. The agent said she would waive the $25 booking fee in light of that.
After getting the e-ticket I saw we were charged the $25. I e-mailed CS politely for a refund since it was supposed to be waived. I got a response today. They're refunding it but what struck me as odd is the reason: "Thank you for contacting Customer Relations. We are sorry for the confusion over the $25.00 service fee charged in error. According to the policies and procedures for Business Extraa (sic) customers, no service fee is applicable when making a reservation. In view of these details, we've authorized personnel in our Passenger Refunds department to issue a $25.00 credit back to the original form of payment used." I know that there is no phone booking fee for BE awards, but a waiver of a regular (non-BE) booking fee just for being a BE member? Or were they just looking for a polite way out? |
Has anyone ever used their BusinessExtraa points to renew their membership? I just couldnt pull the trigger on dropping $350 or 45,000 miles, so I figured I would use my points instead. Seemed like a pretty good deal at 3,000 points.

Anyone heard anything about earning/burning BE points on US?
|
Came into the thread to ask the same question as nall. Booking an employee on US and would like to know if its possible to put in our BE number.
|
If any BE credit is given for US, it looks like it will need to be on 001 stock (booked via AA channels). All speculation though, I expect BE might not make an announcement until US joins oneworld.

Email from Business Extra on Jan 7:
While we will soon begin the first phase of our codeshare with US Airways, we haven't yet enabled your company to earn and redeem Business Extra points on US Airways flights. We are working hard to do so and will let you know as soon as it is available. |
