are you sure about this? because you can earn BE points on OW partner-operated flights that are ticketed with AA codeshare flight numbers.

BXP1 Upgrade Certs

So I ordered some BXP1 upgrade certs about 3 weeks before my broker's honeymoon to upgrade his seats. Reserved the upgraded seats but never got the certs. Called up 2 days before the flight and, after about 15 minutes, AA was able to put a note in the system for my bro and he got upgraded without incident. A few weeks later, and the certs finally arrived (more than a month after the date on the letter).

My question is, what are the odds I can still use these certs? I don't want to put some upgraded seats on hold and show up to the airport to have them not be accepted and my MCE coach seats gone.

If I redeem miles for a ticket in first class with one segment in economy, due to no first class seat at the time of booking. If the first class award space later, I know that I can call AA to change move the segment in economy to first class, free of charge.

Does redemption of Business Extra points come with the same privilege? thanks.

I have an unused BXP1 with an expiration at the end of this month. Is it worth asking if they'll allow me to return it for the points used to secure it, or otherwise extend it so I don't lose the value?

I tried to return a couple BXP1s that I could not use by the end of last year due to an invol reroute and had no luck. Certainly doesn't hurt to email them, though.

Why not just throw the certificates away?

BE lets you return awards, if unused. If 24 hours or less, no fee.. otherwise, there is a fee

Adding BE #

I bought a ticket over the phone from AA (long story). The rep said she couldn't add the BE #. When I look online I can see the reservation and can add my PreCheck number and FF# but not the BE#. The flight is tomorrow (Sunday). Any possibility of adding the number before the flight? (I know I can request credit after the flight but would prefer to do it in advance myself if possible...)

Thanks.

Call back and try again. This should not be a problem to do.

Sometimes normal reservations agents can't see/add your BE number. If you call the BE/Meeting Services desk, they can add it for sure.

Website only says Japan, China or South Korea, which are obviously the only 3 places AA currently flies its own metal to in Asia. I guess its worth a shot but just curious if anyone had any insight.

Has anyone tried to use North Asia award for HKG?

Can Business Extra awards be put on hold by calling your elite number, or only during regular business operating hours when the Business Extra line is open?
