Speculation: New Routes, Hubs, Flights (2017 Onward)
Because there is community interest in having a purely speculative discussion about whether other airports will pop up to become focus cities or hubs, new routes, etc. the following new thread has been amalgamated on this topic.

Note:

Going: 9 A330-300, ER190, some older 757-200 and 8 767-300ER (leaving 17), MD-80

Coming: Remainder of 16 Boeing 26 787-8, 22 Boeing 787-9 (began later 2016). A320 family - 100 A321neo, and B737-800 (100 737-MAX8) aircraft.

See Cranky Flier article on 2016 fleet changes, AA-HP-US. Link.

Also see: HELP DESK: General questions about aircraft equipment, fleet, seats, IFE, etc.

Speculation fun time: Will xxx be the next AA focus city / hub? (consolidated)

An amusing quip for sure ... but for clarity, AA metal returning to TLV at some point in the next few years is well within the realms of possibility.

Moving on...

The PHX-HNL 333 turn will be rotated with a 333 from a CLT-PHX / PHX-CLT turn. I believe the CLT flight was loaded recently.

This has been happening for a few years now, I remember taking the PHX-CLT which is usually a red-eye which makes for a great way to fly east.

Unfortunately the widebody phx-clt flights are morning westbound and afternoon eastbound. Too bad it's not available for a red eye like you did previously

I'm flying the PHX-CLT redeye in December and it's still scheduled as a 332...

I just looked it up, on Dec 20th it's a 333, leaves PHX at 9:35am and on Dec 23 it arrives at 10:27AM and it's a 333. You might want to check your flights

In previous years I remember AA used the 330 CLT-PHX during the holiday season. My point was that it appears AA will fly the 333 CLT-PHX-HNL and back December through at least February.

It has to be in order to do the PHX-HNL-PHX turn.

When I looked at the schedules that is what they are doing, so the plane isn't sitting in HNL for 18 hours like it's currently doing.

Seems unlikely unless AA finally settles with Israel over the unpaid employee obligations from the PanAm bankruptcy. That's the only plausible reason that I believe for AA abruptly ending the former US route after the merger.

No.
Please read the hundred posts that discuss why this is not a thing.

Wrong thread?
