All 8 First and 52 Business seats recline to horizontally flat, have full aisle access and are isolated from other seats; they offer folding flat screen AVOD with touchscreen monitor that offers on-demand entertainment with up to 250 movies, 160 TV shows, 13 radio channels, 375 albums and 20 games, 110 VAC international multiplug and 5 VDC USB power. Ku-Band Satellite Panasonic Wi-Fi is offered for sale. B&O noise cancelling headphones are available for use in flight (generally picked up an hour prior to arrival), and both cabins feature a walk-up bar stocked with snacks and refreshments.


First Class seating
Eight First Class Flagship suites by Safran (nee Zodiac Aerospace), though they are not as spacious a seat as the original 772 F suite, offer 82” / 208 cm of pitch and 36” width in a herringbone 1-2-1 configuration; they become a fully horizontal 6’ 8” bed with retractable arm rests extending the width; turndown service provides a mattress pad, pillow, duvet, amenity kit and pajamas. Seats swivel, diners in D-G First suites can dine face to face with privacy screen lowered. Each suite has two folding tables.
  • A and D, and G and J are not aligned / are slightly offset (contrary to Seatguru and other seat charts).
  • D and G pairs have a high privacy screen that can be raised / lowered.
  • Note that 1D and G have no bins, so bin contention does occur

There are a large folding flat 17" touch screen AVOD, two 110 VAC international multiplug and 5 VDC USB power, RCA composite input (red, white and yellow) and a Panasonic eXport jack (see here). The seat controls are in an iPhone like touch controller.




Business class seats
All 52 business class seats offer aisle access and convert to fully horizontal flat beds and feature 75” pitch, 26” wide (at its widest point, so less in actuality) fully horizontal seats in a 1-2-1 "pod" configuration offer full AVOD through large flat folding screens and a Panasonic eX2 IFE system, retractable aisle arm rests. The seats move forward and aft to adjust distance fro service table, etc. The headset jack is behind a small stowage door at shoulder height that holds the B&O noise reducing headsets, personal light and air vent, 110 VAC and 5 VDC USB power, RCA composite input ( red, white and yellow) and a Panasonic export jack link), touch seat controls, AVOD corded hand controller. Some storage, including shoe stowage, is available. The center seat pairs do not provide close seating for couples.

  • 3A-J people like privacy, only single window
  • 4A-4J too noisy (galley and lav close) for some
  • rows 3 and 4 have reports of being somewhat ignored by J cabin crew
  • Row 5 has only single window, close to galley and lavs / noisy
  • Row 7 one window, 7A overhead stowage taken by O2 equipment
  • Row 11 has no windows
  • Row 12 is at the wing root; 13-15 downward views impaired by the wing
  • Row 15 is positioned directly in front of the Economy lavs

Service caveats: some crew variability, and some crews excessively noisy in the galleys. Applies in F, J including J minicabin.
  • The seat selection sites (seatguru, seatexpert) are often mostly correct, and are not 100% reliable in any case (seatguru has 77W seat chart corrected errors).

Food is better. I loved the Lobster appetizer and the Artichoke soup (catering will differ ex US). The seats have more length and width and the cabin is much quieter than Business. The B&O headphones were cool but stuck with my Bose. The Pajamas fit which is unusual for airlines and the turn down service was very polite. Ate meal and then relaxed. 11hours seemed to take about an hour. Business is good but more claustrophobic. Appetizers, soup etc are far more basic or missing. I also find food is better cooked and presented in first. Presumably due to higher FA to PAX ratio. So for me as a tall PAX who like the good life, best $200 you will spend.
No brainer to me. Yes, definitely worth $200. And just as a kind reminder, you will also get access to the MIA Flagship First Dining (and unlimited Krug champagne) prior to your flight.

Row 3 on 777-300ER Business

Hi All,

After some research it looks like row 3 on a JFK-LHR is the way to go. It will be my girlfriend and I flying business on this plane for the first time, and from what I've read, it'll be a treat on these reverse herringbone seats.

Question, do I book the two middle seats (3G and 3H) that both face inward so we can enjoy being next to each other? Or does that not matter much? I really want the window so I'm thinking 3J and 3G.

Let me know your thoughts. Thanks guys.

I used one of these while flying QR Qsuites. I read about the hard seats and since I was spending 24 hours in the air I figured why not. I found one that rolls up and fits nicely in my backpack side pocket and was very glad I had it. Slept like a rock. Nobody could see me since i deployed and packed up with the suite door closed, but I’d do it again on an open seat if I had to.

To a degree, yes. Because of the angle of the seats your heads will be the furthest apart and the design is such you have to lean over and a bit forward to hold a conversation at a level that doesn't disturb others. But done it many times with my wife, and it is fine. It's not like you want to have an hour long conversation about philosophy while on a plane anyway. You still get to click champagne glasses for cheers and the like without any issue.

If this doesn't matter much to you, and you want the window, you're picking the right side for viewing London upon approach into LHR.

Will be taking my first ever AA Business flight (LAX -> LHR) in a few months time, only ever done short haul MCE with them so looking forward to it. Currently sat in 3A which seems to be ok but wondering what the noise/light situation is as its an overnight trip.

3A is best seat in Business in my opinion. The Mini Cabin is quieter than the main Business cabin and you do not get the noise from the Galley that can be irritating in 4A. Also 3A does not suffer from the Air Conditioner noise that 4A does. I am a light sleeper but often do not bother with earplugs. I think you have made the best choice. You can reserve your Meal Entree 30 days out on the website. It is a good idea to do this so you are not disappointed on the day. I always book my meal choice on website.

I am sure you will have a great flight. AA is by the best across the Atlantic in my opinion. The Business Seats are much longer than BA and all aisle access. They offer a comforter and a pillow but if you want to change into something comfortable to sleep in, you will need to bring that as PJ's on TATL are First Class only.

If you want to use a tablet to view the inflight entertainment, remember to download the AA app at home or in the hotel, as you cannot download it on board. You can always use the HD screen on the plane but I like my bluetooth Bose Noise Cancelers, no cord and not fond of sharing headphones.

Have a great trip on the best Airline TATL.

I would move out of the mini-cabin personally. I found it incredibly noisy. Both the AC air exchange and the galley doors constantly slamming were incredibly unpleasant. The larger business class cabin is my selection always.

The noise from the AC is a good point. However, I personally want the background noise, which makes it easier to sleep.

we tried the mini cabin but agree it was noisy. so now only as a last resort

Sorry for any confusion. Yes, I am looking for recommendation for seats for my wife and I. The best options are 1A and 1D across the aisle from each other or 1A and 2A. It is an overnight flight to Europe, so we will sleep for a portion of the flight. We do like to interact when awake.
