19 is mce - it shows on ef as unpaid bc it's not for sale - it's only for elites. Many people on other threads review it well. I was planning to try it on the LAX to HKG flight last month, but my swu cleared.

My favourite seats in this cabin are 18A and 18L, although 17A and 17L would be pretty much identical. Lots of legroom. I'm not a huge fan of the exit row seats.

I haven't sat in 16, but with the lavatories right there, I would not sit there. I've sat next to the lavatories before and not only does it get congested in the area, there is the risk that someone takes a very smelly #2. That was not a fun transatlantic flight!

less of an issue (no issue at all ?) if you're in D, E or F

I just rode 18D on 126 (I think: HKG-DFW) and it was perfectly acceptable. Admittedly, I had the aisle-side armrest up as soon as we were off the ground, and it stayed that way the entire flight.

Also, we never had a congestion problem around the lavs.

I've only ever done 16a/l or 16c/j

A&L I would usually pick for overnight flights where I want to sleep, I can know for a fact between the window to rest a pillow on, the legroom, and the fact I can use the lav without disturbing anyone, it's a winner for me. Lines for the lav were never really a huge hindrance in my experience.

16C is fine, you have more legroom since the door isn't there in front of you, (but it's not that big a hindrance for me in the first place, so I see 16c as a downside slightly since it's closer to the lav doors.) Width on these seats really isn't an issue.

I didn't have any issues with proximity to the lavatories when I flew in 16L last year. It was the most legroom I've ever had in an economy seat, but I personally wouldn't choose 16A or L again because of the lack of an actual window. If the missing window isn't a dealbreaker, I would recommend16ABC or 16JKL as passengers occasionally use the space in front of 16DEH to switch between aisles.

We were quite happy in 17/18 K and L, as a family of 4. I never like being in the middle of a widebody, and staring at a wall is odd, even if it a few feet away.

fwiw, I think they still call 20 MCE, but stay away.

The center seats in Row 19 are the way to go. Very roomy, no one immediately behind you.

Avoid exit row seats in Row 16, plenty of legroom but sacrifice width.

Flying DFW-LHR (AA50) on 1/27. Hoping my waitlisted upgrade comes through.

In the meantime, what are your thoughts on MCE middle seats vs an aisle seat farther back...like 33H?

MCE middle. As unpleasant as a middle seat may be, the narrowness and lack of legroom in the back is a deal breaker for me. (And I'm only 5'9)
