Been using it for a day or so now - there appears to be an issue with updating the passport electronic boarding pass through either passport or the AA app, which sort of sucks. IE, delays and gate changes appear to no longer update into passport.

Learned my lesson with Apple's new IOS......since my original iPhone....never do I immediately download a new IOS,
As it invariably has 'BUGS' that need to be worked out over the next week possibly more....
Wish Apple would more stringently 'beta' test product prior to releasing it, unfortunately seems to be a ongoing pattern...

So you're saying it's an "issue"?

downloaded ios7 and the new AA app yesterday. Looks decent (though took me a while to find my flight details.
Question to those who have used it: What is the green dot next to my flight times? Has that been around for a while? I don't remember it before

I agree with mrdebit. I think in the past the time would read as green or red depending on whether departure/arrival was on time or late...

Could you not see aircraft type on the old app?

aj411 Sep 20, 2013 10:12 am

thanks for the info on my green dot mystery (makes sense) but since the flight is so far out, seems kind of silly.

Also interesting, there was already a new AA app update out - update to the update.

Off topic, but I agree with not updating iOS right away. Last time I got burned by that stupid Apple Maps which replaced my beloved Google Maps with Street View.

It's back, now, as an app but for three miserable months I had to live without it.

Has anybody figured out how to see the standby or upgrade list on the new app? Can't find it for the life of me.

It shows up on the main screen when you click on your flight - its an orange or yellow (cant remember the color) right in the middle of the screen. Its pretty obvious and takes you to to a screen that looks very similar to the old app for standby/upgrades list.

Interesting. I made it on my standby flight so no way to know for sure, but I swear there was no colored bar (like the old app) to show that I was on the standby list and to let me check my position. Obviously I was indeed on the list because I made the flight.

If the IOS7 app is more accurate for SWU seating, then it's a win. I'm on #70 tomorrow to FRA. The AA web site, when I checked yesterday, had me in C but seat unassigned. I called the EXP desk to request an SWU on another trip and asked about the FRA leg, and expected they would sort out seating at DFW. EXP said they had seats and would try to get that done today if possible.

I was OK in any event since this has always been a tough SWU leg for me and scoring a C in any seat is great.

I get an email a few hrs later reissuing the ticket with C on both legs- I assume since I had earlier cleared for the return on #71, but there was no seat assignment on #70.

But the app has me in a decent seat and I just put that BP in Passbook. Still no seat assignment on AA.com, so if the app rules I like it.

Version?

The version on my AA iPhone app is 3.01.3.01. What is the version of the app that is the subject of this thread?

I updated my iPad to iOS7 but iPhone is still 6.1.2..
iPad version: 3.0.1
iPhone version: 2.5.1
As somebody said earlier the new version 3.0.1 supports iOS7 or above, and it won't be installed if iOS version is 6.x.x or earlier, I guess.

Exactly. Let others download, ..... about bugs, and then wait a few for corrections. My husband did it and now his phone doesn't work in his car.

I'll wait a few. :)
