Do you have an iphone or another smart phone? Everyone who seems to have the same problems I have are using iOS6 on the iphone/pad. The app is worthless if I cannot pull up a reservation and boarding pass. Last week the boarding pass wouldn't even show up in Passbook. Worked fine until the app came out with an update the first week in October.

iPhone, but still ios5 (5.1.1). One of the reports above indicated that the problems were happening before the ios6 update, but it sill may be issues with the new software.

Curious if anyone with ios6 is not having issues.
Cheers.

Come to think of it, while the old AA version was giving me the problem, it was only after I upgraded my iOS from 5.x to 6.0. So, my experience is consistent with the issue being iOS 6.0.

On the AA iPad app there is a section under the main menu that is called "drink coupons". If I go to it a screen comes up that says "You have no drink coupons". Is this new or a soon to be announced feature of the AAdvantage program?

I haven't been able to see any of my reservations on either the iPad or iPhone since October. Even before the 6.0. I've called about 4 times now. They referred me to thr developer. Called them and promised a call back. Never received one. No one seems to know what to do. CRAP APP CRAP SERVICE.

I was having the same experience for all of this year. Even to calling in, being referred to the developer, calling them, explaining problem, CSR verifies problem and promised call-back, which never happens.

All of a sudden, a couple of weeks ago, it all started working. I can now see my trips on my iPod running iOS 6. Haven't tried it on my iPhone running iOS 4 yet.

AA iPhone app - questions and issues (consolidated)

I can see my trip. I get the sme blank screen when I try to change seats.

Also, is there a way to check where the flight is arriving from? Like if I am taking off from dfw and my plane has not arrived...how do I check where it's coming from and when it will arrive?

Not on the app, AFAIK. If you bring up the regular AA.com page in the browser you can do this. It would be nice to have it on the app as well, but it doesn't seem to be there.

Cheers.

Until... I was boarding and when my BP scanned it had my old seat, gave an error and I had to go back to the gate agent and have them print out a hard copy boarding pass... Boo :td:. I was quite surprised/excited that the electronic BP automatically updated but I suppose too good to be true that it would work seamlessly.[/

This happened to me on a flight yesterday. First time relying the app. First screen showed new seat assignment, BP shows old seat. Didn't have time to address with GA. Arrived to find someone with a printed BP in my seat. FA confirmed my old seat. No MCE, buried in the back. Flight was delayed 2 hours. This was the icing on the cake. Going back to paper

I have not - 6.1.2 and it's been perfect. Gate and departure time notifications work fine. No problem switching seats but it's cumbersome. Works on my iPhone 5 not only for notifications but also BPs, even for those upgrades that hit after I already boarded for a coach seat. See #7 here:

Anybody having trouble getting logged in? Whenever I enter password, app crashes without logging in. I've tried both of our accounts, uninstalled app, hard reset, reinstalled app. Simply will NOT let me log in. Crashes 100% of the time.

IPad app is working fine. Just crashing the iPhone app.

AA just updated their app and it now allows seat changes "in-app" and (says) it even allows seat changes after you have checked-in.

I tried changing my seats for a future reservation after upgrading the app and it still pulls up the in-app browser requiring me to log-in to the AA mobile website. Maybe this option is presented once you actually check-in, but right now it doesn't appear to be a truly built-in feature yet.

Just updated the app and used it to change my seat for a flight this evening for which I've already checked in. Worked like a charm and looks good, too.

Thanks for clarifying. I wonder why you can only make in-app seat changes after check-in? Seems like an easily fixable oversight on the developer's part.

For me, the app now loads a fully functional seat map (like what you see on aa.com), and seat changes work well. It no longer gives me the in app browser.

I have not tried it after checking in for a flight yet, but that would be great, since IIRC you can't even do that on aa.com.

same here...updated the app and now seat changing works well after checking in. i have not tried before. but sounds like seat changing works before and after checking in.

now if only we could see upgrade standby lists.
