What a total pain in the neck.
Since their intend is to promote additional flying, it is hardly surprising that they don't want this to apply to flights that have already been booked and that they will make it difficult to do so.

That said, if anyone figures out an easy way before my already booked LGA-DEL round trip, then I am all ears.

Hi
If I take a eze-jfk-eze flight with the returning starting on June 15 (so arriving on June 16), will I get the double EQM? or the flight have to end on June 15 to get it?
thanks

Wow, could AA make it any easier for me to make EXP again in 2009. Cheap fares to FRA and now a $48 r/t ($70.20 ai) for NYC/BOS. Seriously, I have not really figured out the "business rational" behind this program. If you are a business traveler, its not like you can go up to your boss and tell him/her that need you need more business trips because of now DBEQM. In fact, most FF are totally unaware of these types of promotions (and many probably could care less). I mentioned this program to an EXP last night at the gym and he had been totally clueless to the 2008 AADER promotion.

I agree with brp, MRs really have no meaning to AA. I don't think that AA wants to target those few of us that are crazy over obtaining status and miles through any and all means of cheap flying.

Last year a short segment earned 1000 EQM during AADER. Not explicitly in the rules, however this wording seems to imply it will be the same

"Double elite-qualifying miles will be calculated at 100% of the elite-qualifying miles earned for each applicable flight"

On another note, I was debating whether or not to attend the Freddies on April 23, now I'm on

JFK-LAX-DFW-FLL-DFW-LAX-JFK

which is actually cheaper than LGA-DFW-FLL-DFW-FLL.

Man, this makes me wish I wasn't completely unavailable for any air travel during April...

Now to convince the SO to make a trip to BOS in late May

All you need to do is leave on the 15th. Even if your flight is delayed to the morning hours of the 16th, you will still get the miles.

You need to swing by BOS before and after LAX

Thanks for the quick answer. If everything goes OK, this will make me to get EXP for the first time!

Don't for a moment think that I didn't try.. but timing doesn't work well (would require extra overnights), and I don't value RDMs enough

Thumbs up 47,558 EQMs for $1,300 all-in via PVG!

4/24-26 SEA-FRA 12,130eqm x 2 = 24,260

5/22-24 SEA-ZRH 12,706eqm x 2 = 25,412

Total : 49,250 BIS miles x 2 = 98,500 EQM's

With the trip I already have booked for PVR next week, this puts me over the top!
My partner and I just booked the following trip over the Easter holiday. We weren't planning on this, but the itinerary we found was just too good to pass up:

4/8 DFW-BOS-LAX-ORD (arrive AM on 4/9) 5,918eqm x 2 = 11,836
4/9 PVG-ORD 7,057eqm x 2 = 14,144
4/10 PVG-HKG 767eqm (no DBEQM bonus)
4/13 HKG-PVG 767eqm (no DBEQM bonus)
4/13 PVG-ORD-LAX 8,802eqm x 2 = 17,604
4/14 LAX-DFW (redeye) 1,235eqm x 2 = 2,470

Total : 24,546 BIS miles x 2 = 47,558 EQM's

We're using our EVIPs for the LAX-ORD-PVG and PVG-ORD-LAX legs. Add that to the fact that we'll get the ORD-PVG 5k bonus and the BOS-LAX 3x bonus, and we're talking about 59,314 AAdvantage miles for the trip.

If you're going to be on these flights, let us know!

TH has convinced herself that maybe be EXP isn't such a bad thing.

Again, prices sort of suck from SEA, but BRU in May beats BRU in December.

Has anyone had an experience with how AA treats itinieraries which were "purchased" with a voucher which didn't "ticket" until much later?

I've got a couple of BOS-SFO round-trips which were purchased on March 9th, but will ticket on/after March 18th.

Think that'll qualify for this promotion under the terms?

Offer applies only to new reservations booked between March 18, 2009, and June 15, 2009.
