YTD Elite Qualifying Miles: 37,376

I've been doing transcons JFK<->LAX every week since mid Jan, and will be doing one RT every week (except next week) through mid May. So... looking at another almost 40,000 by May ... would bring me near 80,000 Miles. Thing is, though, I don't know what my travel situation will be like after that.

I have a trip to Sydney, but my company wants me to use United since they are $2-3k cheaper than Qantus, especially with our corp discount. I'm thinking of paying the difference so I can earn Q-points/miles (plus Qantus is said to have a better J product).

Wish there was some way to use AA miles to upgrade Qantas J to F.

I'm in big trouble. I re-qualified last year for EXP in May. This year I have so far only 4,000 miles and NOTHING booked for pay travel.

No, that's your average Community thread.

AA isn't having very many good sales for the middle of the country. They're aiming most of their sales this year at defending against other LCCs like Frontier.

Keep $2-3,000 in your pocket

AA miles won't get you into QF F. So, you're probably in J, unless you corporate travel agent can finagle an upgrade for you from J to F on United based on your firm's contract (it's worth asking for.) Assuming you will be in J and want Q points, try flying AA to NRT on a Y ticket using miles to upgrade to J (expense copay of course), and then QF NRT to SYD in J. The cost should be less that even the discusounted UA J ticket to SYD, so your company is kept whole, and you are only out of pocket 50,000 miles.

Currently at a little over 23,000 with two NRT trips in the works (another 28,500 eqms). Toying with another run to either CDG or LGW for 11,000 April 16-18 (fares are $405-420 r/t). With three more ORD-DFW's through May and one trip to FL, I should be close to 70K by the end of May. Looks like I will be able to push on through to EXP by September.

On the outbound ORD-LHR last week, I sat next to a man who had already requalified for EXP! I, on the other hand, am about half way to getting Gold again, but have a perfect opportunity for the PLT challenge in mid-June.

Am about 500 QPs below Plat requalify. Dont know how best to get them. MR? If so, when, where? I am based in DFW.

Darn the small numbers. So near Plat, so far away from ExPlat.

I have just bought the ticket that will snag EXP for me for next year! Am doing a SNN run in mid-December, my first ever turn-around & never leave the airport internat'l run. I realized I would still be about 1,400k short. So, noting some under $100 base fares for the midwest, I just snagged a 3-seg run to Ohio & back the following Saturday--putting mr 64 miles over 100k for 2005......and it's all been on leisure travel, and on a crappy salary at that too.

This year I really planned it perfectly, but...

This year it could have been the closest to 100k ever for me(100,005 EQM). But something just came up yesterday that I have to make additional 3 RTs between LAX and NRT in December; got totally ruined.
