you would think that if they put all the TSAPre passengers through one checkpoint they would have more than one screening lane running

We went through SEA earlier this week and they had 4 screening lanes. Also, I didn’t need my boarding pass, just my ID.

I think I saw that at SEA on the 30th... at the TSA precheck checkpoint, 1 of the 4 people checking ID's had a sign on top of their ticket scanner machine that said something like "This station is using a new verification method". I didn't go through that one because there was a free agent.

Not having to juggle phone, lock screen, wallet & ID and then cram everything back in a bag would be a nice perk.

Is it just me or do the Alaska 737s have a certain... smell to them? It's like the smell of new and freshness? Like I've only noticed it on the Boeings and only on Alaska planes. Please tell me I'm not the only crazy dude here that notices this.

There is a "new plane smell" that lasts for a month or two after delivery...

Then how come I notice them on the -800s too with the slightly older cabin?

Does this mean the remodeled Airbusses will have that smell too?

Maybe I'm just a little slow on the uptake, but on my last trip a buddy of mine just pointed out something I never noticed before. As we approached the plane I noticed it was an Airbus and commented that we'd get to use IFE instead of our phones. He replied "Yeah it's an old VX plane, all AS flights with 4 digits are". Mind = blown.

To correct him though, it's not all 4 digit flight numbers, just ones that start with 1
4 digits starting with 2 seem to be Horizon.

Once recognizing that pattern, I haven't seen anything that deviates.

Yep all AS 1XXX flights are Airbus for now. Once the cabin reconfigurations/mods take place, will be a little more tricky to tell in advance, though.

4000-4799 (operated by American Airlines)
4800-4999 (operated by PenAir)
5000-5499 (operated by Qantas)
6000-6999, 8001-8999 (operated by American Airlines)

I have seen F bounce between 180K & 225K for EK awards. No idea why.

Interesting I tried different combinations to JNB or CPT and all @200K Biz is still 120K which on the 380 a great deal versus paying the "Vig" on some others. I might try Condor waiting to see if anyone here has used them. I still think there is something brewing at AS
