5/1/18 PVR-SEA AS209 Instant upgrade cleared at booking. Looks like three ended up clearing from the upgrade list.
Weirdness with upgrades tonight. GA booted two people back to Y and seated two others upgraded in their place. From what I overheard, somehow the computer allowed an upgrade sale along with upgraded elite without seat assignments. And the same thing happened last night. GA was apologetic and refunded the upgrade fee along with a discount code to be sent via email. FA's stepped up too and were going to extend F-lite in the form of drink service to the downgradees.

4/30 LAX-SEA 420p departure: A320 No UG--I did a SDC to this flight from another PMVX flight. No clue if I would have scored an upgrade at the gate on my original flight, but I didn't get one in the 75K window despite four F seats being open.
5/1 PDX-PHX 845p departure: UG @ 120 hr
Just a heads up for people on Virgin planes. Watch the equipment type the day of departure. I was on the A321 and picked 8E (mid-cabin door, sitting next to the FA jumpseat). Plane was then downgraded to an A320 leaving me in a middle seat. Luckily there was a window open in MCS...err PC in row 10. The crew was actually into it on this flight too. Must have gotten their first AS paycheck.

5/2/18 SAN-SFO AS1959 (A320) R-Fare no upgrades. GA explained the computer is incorrectly selling F and PC upgrades (starting at $15) on legacy VX flights so no elite upgrades.
On the reserve route, on AS metal, I had no problems.
5/1/18 SAN-SFO AS376 (B737) R-Fare. UG @ 72-hours

LAX-MCO AS1312 (VX Metal) - Sun. 4/29 - T fare - myself (w/ companion) and one other person were only PAX on waitlist and all 3 cleared at T-2. 1 F went out empty

shockingly no one was on the list. I wasn’t either , but asked to be added at the gate in case of no show. Cleared at T-30 on a BA award ticket. Gate agents were great.

Can you clarify this? I'm still getting used to all the nuances of AS - is this like on UA where million milers can gift status to a companion?

As a 75kMVPG I am allowed to "gift" MVP status once a year to anyone I choose (I choose my husband) Interestingly enough he never shows up next to me on waitlists now, he is way down on the list. For our SEA ORD flight tomorrow he is 34 out of 48 on the list.

This also happens on DL, as one of my choice benefits, I could gift DL silver status to someone. But why would I do that when I can use the RUCs myself
lol Acutally if this particular FT'er wanted the silver status, I'd gladly give it to him instead of RUCs since they never clear when you want them to anyways.
