Can't make a seat allocation/request MEL-AKL 18 NOV NZ123
For reasons unexplained, I cannot make a seat allocation for my flight MEL-AKL NZ124 on 18 Nov. Call centre said they would put in a request, but I also note that ExpertFlyer is also unable to pull-down the current seatmap. Aircraft is B744. I successfully have seat 29C allocated for AKL-MEL on NZ 123 (same day return ;))
I wonder if this is a transition problem with the Seat/Seat+B/ etc fate structure TT? |

ExpertFlyer Voice. Thanks! I suspect problem at Air NZ end....new fare structure/product being implemented. |
wrong thread

OK, problem seems to be resolved and I have access to the PE seating for my return as well.
Only PE 1 seat left, so I have snaffled that ;) Upper Deck PE reserved for Works Deluxe pax, with 2 pax per 3-seat block and 1 pax per 2-seat block. |
Is it just me or is logging into your airpoints account from the top right hand corner of the airnz.co.nz page take you to a completely different interface instead of myairnz now? Is this the non-flash version that people requested?

If you don't have flash installed, or have high security settings, then it reverts to a non-flash extremely limited version of the site.

I use Chrome and see a non-flash version. Not the same limited non-flash version as usual though I don't think - still seems relatively functional.

It looks like they're doing some updates on the "How far can you go?" page. It shows flights to Canberra for $0 (sadly not true ;) ) and a flight to an unnamed destination above the Arctic circle for $102, but when you click on it you end up with an even less thrilling destination-Masterton.

I have got the IT guys looking into it now. Cheers Paul |
I finally reached 910 status points for Gold on Tuesday (02 Nov '10) and when the points posted, myairnz showed that I had reached a new tier level (Gold) and my membership pack would be sent out soon. Next day 65 points from last year (03 Nov '09) expired, and myairnz was showing that I needed 55 points if earned today to reach Gold.
Called Air NZ contact centre to confirm that I had indeed hit Gold, and waiting to hear back from them. Wonder if this happens often?? |

New look update for the grabaseat page. The "still cheap as" fares at the bottom today are:
WLG-NPE $201 CHC-BHE $246 AKL-WHK $308 |
Did they confirm your Gold status?
|
Maybe they making up for loss of fares on TT :)

Happened to me when I first qualified for NZ*G in pretty much the exact same scenario (minus the Grabaseat fares). It fixed itself up in a few days.

Also noticed this morning that all the grabaseat deals were showing as sold out. Then they changed to some sold out and others still with seats. And now all the routes have seats.

Got a call back yesterday saying that I will be given Gold as of 15 December. myairnz is now showing I need 98 points to get to Gold, so will be interesting to see if I do actually get Gold as I was told, or if I will stay Silver and need to try and attain Gold as per myairnz. Luckily, I didn't make it to the phone in time so I have the guy's voicemail message saying I have actually made it to Gold.

It'll probably update around the 15th of November or so - IIRC they do sweeps twice a month (15th and 30th sticks in my head) to catch people's status changes -- and the date of 15 Dec aligns with the 30 day changeover period.
|
...nevermind - it works.

Something for you Air NZ Online that is coming up in the TT thread, and that is whether there is anything in the works to allow prospective passengers to see the seat maps for their flights in advance of making a booking. Certainly many of the US airlines (well UA and CO at least) offer this, and with the reduced Space+ offering on the 320s it sounds like those with flexible schedules might appreciate being able to take a peek at the type of seats available before booking.

We have looked at adding seat request into the booking flow to allow customers to view available seats before booking. We actually looked at it when we launched our Skycouch seat, however feedback from customers as part of our user testing was that it was a distraction to the task of booking flights. Seat request at the end of the booking and post booking through Myairnz or manage bookings is really successful and has a very high uptake. I am sure it will be something we continue to review and revisit with our customers. Thanks Paul Senior E-commerce Development Specialist |

I guess E/F is your friend here.
Not even using Travelocity can you dig up a seat map on Air NZ flights. |
Noticed yesterday that the booking engine is now showing all inclusive prices at flight selection for the Australian website, rather than the base fare.
