I have CO code share flights to LAX booked this month and December. I have just discovered that you can no longer change the seating requests. I rang the CC and they said there is nothing they can do and to ring CO - I didn't bother ringing CO as they would redirect me back to NZ.

Any ideas anyone?

There has been comment from time to time about people updating passport details but the information has subsequently reverted to the old information.

I was told about a year ago that it only worked if AirNZ staff inserted the details.

Well, the problem is still there. I imputted our new passport numbers (after being reminded that current ones were due to expire) and thought they had 'held'.

Not so. I logged in this morning only to be told I needed to update my expiring passport details.

Could someone from AirNZ IT please tell me when this glitch is likely to be fixed.

Yes, this happened to me two weeks ago. Updated my PP details online a month or so back, booked after that, but new details didn't show up.

Just checked my profile, and it has reverted to the old details. My passports don't reach expiry - I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not. Hell, in any case, it shouldn't be up to customers to try and reverse engineer all the systems and problems at NZ...

To be honest, I don't see something like this getting fixed. At NZ it seems that only gimmicky features and attempts to introduce yet more complexity into the system get worked on.

You're probably right. But it gets even more odd in that my husband's new passport number, which I entered on the same day as my new one, is still there.

Cannot book business class fares from any SI places other than CHC?

wayoutwest Jul 13, 2011 3:05 pm

Got a response from NZ about no business class available from anywhere but CHC, they have now fixed the problem

Just finished sorting out hotels and about to book.

Business ow and back with VA to see how they work.

Finally hope to see the fireworks in BNE - there was a quake last year that stuffed up our plans

Since the change to allow DJ flights the logic for minimum connecting times has gotten screwed up.

A-B-C okay
B-C-D okay
A-B-C-D connection too short

:(

I was surprised to discover that of all the American cities available, Miami isn't an option on the NZ website.

WellingtonFF Sep 14, 2011 4:43 am

What's wrong with the NZ web site

Can I have a real growl about the NZ web site - I hope it is not because of Telecom as the ISP. Tonight I tried three time to book WLG - MEL for Bag + works, and each time it either timed out, or I lost patience. After finally succeeding on the 4th try, I then tried to book seats, which I did, but on asking for confirmation I got a reply saying that it was not available.

This has happened to me before - what is going on?

I hope this is not NZ's retribution for a closet Oz fleeing NZ to go to the Melbourne AFL Grand Final, nor after becoming slightly addicted to Rugby after living in NZ for many years thinking again very quietly that the Wallabies are going to sneak up on the All Blacks and beat them yet again.

I am one of your strongest supporters as an airline, so please NZ reassure me that you don't descend to those levels, and try to fix the problem.

I am slightly surprised that there has been no comment here about the changes to the website:

Air NZ revamps website for easier deal spotting
Air New Zealand is making it easier than ever for customers to score cheap deals through enhancements to www.airnz.co.nz which went live this week.

Manager of global online sales, Kim Walbridge, says the changes make the site even more customer-friendly including subtle enhancements that will make it easier to find special offers and deals on everything from flights to campervan rentals.

More than a third of Air New Zealand’s revenue is generated by its global websites – each of which will be similarly refreshed in a phased program over the coming six weeks....

I quite like the new design. Don't know that it's made it any easier to "score cheap deals", but it looks a lot cleaner and nicer.

Aesthetically I think it is a lot more basic and cheap, compared to the old version - I think the lack of pictures on the new version contributes to this. The search function, whilst is a lot quicker and easier, doesn't have the hotels, holidays etc. tabs anymore However, it seems to load quicker and the ease of finding information is a definite improvement.

Today AirNZ have put up some specials to China and have a link to enter a contest.
Too bad the link does not work........

Booked a ticket to SYD in a couple of weeks, noticed the Business Class 48 sale (thanks to Emirates) was only $220 more however unable to upgrade for the fare difference through call centre because its not on their system - frustrating

Here is todays error on the website.
Airpoints members will still be able to earn Airpoints Dollars™ on all Hertz and Thrifty bookings made before 1 November 2011 for rentals to be taken before 1 May 2011.
NZ must be going to introduce time travel to use the rental before May 2011 :)

I'm assuming this has been asked and answered many times before - any way to check out a NZ seatmap before purchasing a ticket? Can't find it on the site, KVS can't pull it. Thanks for any advice.

ExpertFlyer shows NZ seat maps and seat maps for 120 other airlines. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance.

I think UA-NYC was not looking for generic seat maps, but for seat maps for specific flights (like "which seats are taken on NZ38 on 31DEC2011").

Expertflyer has always worked for me for NZ seat maps. ^

If I book two seperate flights, to be taken on the same day via the multi-city booking tool, do I get 2 lots of SC's? I want a morning ZQN-CHC flight and then late avo CHC-PMR, but am wondering if I will still get the two lots of SC's, given the are on the sameday and on the same e-ticket, but booked individually? hope that makes sense...

Same PNR, I think not.

I've done this before but on two SEPARATE PNR's and I got SC for both journeys. I suspect being booked into the same PNR it will give you SC once for the entire journey. Would be keen to hear how you got on.

serfty Nov 9, 2011 4:30 pm

Before I earned GE, such an itinerary would give SP for for both segment - since then, no.

Whether this is due to greater scrutiny of the higher SP earner travel or an overall tightening up I do not know.

I have also booked seperatly in the past, but was getting fustrated with having to log into IB for POLi each time, so thought if I could book all the flights as a multi-segment booking, but under the one transaction I could save some time. However, I didn't want to risk missing out on the SCs so booked all 4 individually

birder Nov 9, 2011 7:44 pm

I booked the following ticket:

Auckland-Queenstown
Queenstown-Hokitika
Hokitika-Auckland

It was all on the same PNR. I got the following SC:

Auckland-Queenstown 12
Queenstown-Christchurch 12
Christchurch-Hokitika 8
Hokitika-Christchurch 8
Christchurch-Auckland 12

I thought this was pretty good considering there was just a 2-hour layover in Christchurch each time.

pbl22 Nov 11, 2011 2:11 am

In Feb I booked AKL-CHC on 1 day and then (on the following day) CHC-WLG in the late morning and then WLG-AKL in the evening, all on the 1 PNR (using multi-city booking tool). I only got 12SPs for the first trip and 12SPs for the whole second day's travel, even though that second day consisted of two flights with several hours in between.

I wrote to NZ to request SPs for the third leg but never got a response. I always book each leg individually now.

In response to serfty's suggestion of possible top tier scrutiny, I was only NZ*G at the time.

serfty Nov 11, 2011 4:34 am

What it does indicate is that while YMMV, Airpoints Managemnts can basically credit as they deem fit.

I have noticed that for some reason multi-sector trips involving HKK seem to be more likely to credit as separate sectors than most cities. I have noted this on two different airpoints accounts in the family (separate trips always).

Bugger, the secrets out - don't tell anyone else or the town will be full :p

RandyNZ Jan 3, 2012 2:10 am

Just booked for 3 of us AKL-MEL return in June, using Seat only.

Went to request u/g's online, and it lists my name once and my GE partner twice, but the 3rd pax is not listed, despite the confirmed itin emailed to me on purchase, which has all 3 of our names listed correctly.

Then put in for the u/g requests for me and GE partner and says that these are Requested status (even with R7 Z4 on EF). When I go back to check, my 2 Recognition u/g's not deducted from my account and the u/g web screen lets me put in the same request yet again for the same flight, so appears to not be registering in the system.

Will try again tomorrow otherwise will call.

Same problem here, also keeps the wrong cellphone number for me!

Had a very weird one with passport numbers a couple of months ago. There was two of us traveling together with the same last name. Both of use booked separate tickets on different PNR's, checked on separate machines in the premium lobby. Was in the lounge & got called to the service desk just before boarding. Mine had my family members new passport number & theirs had my old one! Staff looked clueless on that one!

Mine has finally 'taken' but my husband's keeps reverting to an expired passport. Entered it yet again the other day. It really is so frustrating!

It's very annoying that the multistop booking doesn't allow you to use DJ for one leg, trying to do AKL-BNE and then return via OOL. It looks like I'll just have to do two separate bookings.

WLGNZ Jan 31, 2012 10:58 am

Last night was trying use the multistop tool to make a simple AKL-HKG-LHR with a stopover in HKG.....
It was too complicated for the tool!
Hopeless.

flykiwifly Jan 31, 2012 1:24 pm

If it couldn't do that no wonder I couldn't book my mother AKL-YVR and return
SFO-AKL when I tried the other day
