I.M Pei on Concorde. Couldn't resist saying hello -- he was utterly charming.

If we're doing Skyteam, Bill and Hillary Clinton (separately) and various U.S. politicians on Delta Shuttle.

1/ Kristin Scott Thomas on AF002 JFK->CDG (but was there any Concorde flight without a celebrity on board?). She had connected from a "red-eye" flight from LAX, which I found surprising since a non-stop LAX-CDG in a first class sleeper bed would probably have taken about the same amount of time and be less tiring overall;

2/ Chiara Mastroiani on an AF flight to Nice, during the Cannes festival. She was sitting next to me but I did not recognize her. The press photographers, upon arrival, did however

3/ Yannick Noah with kids at a pizza parlor in IAH while waiting for our flight to CDG;

4/ Although it is not properly a "celebrity", I had an encounter with the moon shadow on a dedicated Concorde flight (which I was lucky enough to do in the cockpit on the jump seat) during the solar eclipse of August 11, 1999. We chased it halfway into the atlantic and made a U-turn at Mach 2.2 to be overtaken by the shadow -- an unforgettable experience! Also unforgettable (for whoever experienced congestion at CDG!) was the runway being cleared for us for ~10mn so that the aircraft would be guaranteed to depart on time -- the margin of error was less than 1mn.

True about celebrities on the Concorde and about the LAX-CDG being faster and more comfortable. Being LAX-based most of the time, this is the reason I only once took the Concorde. I only tried it when I happened to be in NYC and got a call to get myself to Europe quickly. I recall when I entered the Concorde lounge at JFK how everyone turned to the door when I entered. I think they all want to take notes about who was in the lounge. Katie Couric was in the seat closest to the door and paying the most attention. However they all turned back to their conversations when they saw it was just me. I guess I'm not flamboyant enough at 9am.

Well worth the story and mostly impressed! Must have been an incredible once in a lifetime experience.

Belle brochette, indeed !
Air France should communicate on such unexpected experiences.

(+ I wish I met them three in the very same flight !)

Patrick Juvet (who is actually Swiss I believe) has (or has taken up) a summer residence in the town where I live. A year ago I was walking with a group of French friends and all at once they started shrieking and ran over to mob him and have their pictures taken with him. He was quite gracious (though his, um...nephew...was rude). I had to Google him to see what all the fuss was about.

French TV producer Julien Courbet was sat behind me with wife and children a month ago between BOD and ORY. I do not know why they were not in the Patio lounge before the flight.

Last Nov on a flight from CDG-JFK in First Class:

Marisa Berenson: I think I counted 11 or 12 pcs of luggage at the baggage claim.

On the other side of the plane: Natalia Vodianova (Hot model !), her husband and son.
