Yeah, LAX-PPT costs as much as CDG-PPT... interesting.

US market is very expensive in terms of luxury goods and services and more willing to "overpay" than others... there's some exceptions but almost anything that can be considered "fancy" is more expensive than in Europe. Consider that even a fairly basic bottle of wine is $20 that might be under 5 euros in France.

I agree in general that "honeymoon" destinations are not great candidates for F (an analysis of LX service to MLE or SEZ would be interesting, from the time the mainline flew them, which I think at least for MLE they did), but I have a feeling PPT could be an exception. French Polynesia, as a destination, is definitely a step above Maldives or Seychelles, let alone Mauritius.

LX never flew to SEZ or MLE… always Edelweiss, no First Class on their planes.

Well, then a comfortable Business seat and service it is.

Will go there for 5 weeks. Staying at an apartment as well as some nights in Bora Bora and Morea and possibly the IC Tahiti Resort at the end. After that 2 weeks in Caledonia including the Ile des Pins.
LP would have been the icing regarding flights...

I'll be in NOU the first week of July if you happen to find yourself there then, though it looks like you're looking at the tail end of the month based on the above.

Arrival services at CDG?

Hello, I’ve just splurged on an upgrade to LP SFO to CDG. My trip terminates at CDG. What can I expect in the way of ground services at CDG? I believe I’ve read that I won’t have lounge access, but is there expedited/escorted help through immigration and baggage collection? Any chance of car service into Paris? Thanks very much for your help!

No lounge access upon arrival is correct, baggage collection and immigration support will be provided. Limousine service is offered too - in a radius of about 40km from CDG, but you need to reserve it upfront (~6h prior to arrival). Enjoy your trip.

Is there a minimum connection time required for a spa booking? I have a 2.5h connection, emailed the LP email, and was told that there isn’t enough time to use the spa since boarding starts an hour beforehand. Technically, the email is correct, although isn’t this the purpose of the transfer via car? (Every time I’ve flown LP I end up on the aircraft just a few minutes before departure, as opposed to boarding the aircraft right at check-in time.)

If that's what they say, then you don't have much of a choice. Also...I did a facial treatment there in December. It was the only inclusive (free) service. Anything else such as massage was quite expensive. With the treatment I did get, its mostly about trying to sell you Sisily products. I think enjoying the meal service for your short time there is FAR better value than the spa. You can book a far better and affordable spa service anywhere.

Is there a way to add a wiki on this thread with current LP routes? I've seen it on some threads but I just don't know how it's done.

I’m surprised that you received that type of a reply. With 2.5 hours, there’s more than enough time but it might be that there isn’t a spot available during your stay and that something got lost in translation. You can push/try to clarify or let it be (it’s nice but isn’t anything special).

THanks, very nice summary (my initial thought had been “this question has been answered around 2-3 weeks ago already”). We should really put your post up in a Wiki.

If you up in the thread there also is a more extensive listing of previous P destinations. I think the last ones that got axed are Johannesburg, Beirut, and Houston.

Does anyone know how the arriva/transit experience is when arriving from a La Premiere flight in Paris and continuing later that day to a normal business schengen flight?
Will I get access to the la premiere lounge still?
Just asking because I have a 10h transit and would like so work somewhere in CDG. The 2F lounge is always so crowded and if an upgrade is avaiiable for that earlier flight, I might try to get into P.
