Headlines are kept as short as possible without losing information. Airline Name parts like Air, Aer, Airline, Airways, ... are therefore being omitted where the airline is unambiguously being identified nonetheless. Such parts of the airline names are used only where a potential confusion with another airline exists.
That's only unambiguous if you know there's only one airline in Canada that flies the E90.

And I'm making an assumption with that statement. I'd have to look it up.

It's not like down here where a headline like "United pilots ask for more money" is unambiguous.

"Canada" is not an airline. "United" is.

It's a news source aimed at the profession and those who follow it, so the readers are likely to be able to identify the airline with ease.

Would the average Joe? No, but that's not their audience.

Security breach YWG airport June 5

Apparently there was some type of security breach at YWG airport today. I'm currently on a flight that pushed back from the gate about 70 mins ago, was held after pushback, and returned to the gate. All checked luggage is being removed and re-screened. Looks like it'll be at least a 90+ min delay for our flight and others in a similar position. Anyone have more details on what's going on? Sounds like it must have been specific to the baggage area, as at least passengers don't have to be rescreened.

'Security incident' stops all outgoing flights from Winnipeg airport

A "security incident" involving baggage has grounded all outgoing flights from the Winnipeg James Richardson International Airport on Sunday night.

Baggage drop areas at the Winnipeg airport have also been shutdown as part of the investigation, said a spokesperson with the Winnipeg Airports Authority.

It's nice to see an on-topic post after so many non-YWG posts in the somewhat scary one near winnipeg thread.

Looks like the YWG situation is cleared up. Pushing back again after holding at the gate for ~2.5 hours (on a CRA too).

Couldn't disagree more, after 8 years it might be prudent and at least try and show (a little) less bias around here. We should re-name it "Somewhat scary one near Edmonton/Calgary/Halifax(AC hull loss)/Vancouver/Toronto/Montreal !

An Air Canada flight from Toronto to Barbados reportedly spent two hours on the tarmac thanks to an unruly passenger.

Flight 1966 was searched as a precautionary measure and the man has reportedly been taken into custody for questioning.

Family was on AC882 last night.
Lost pressure and made an emergency descent to 10k feet, and returned to YYZ

Apparently FAs lost it and started crying

I'd heard about the pressurization incident from another thread, but I'd assumed that it was an old 767 or maybe an A330. Didn't realize that it was a nearly new 787.

Glad everyone was alright in the end.

A rapid decompression (AC's euphemism: "if the cabin pressure changes") can be somewhat scary. Especially in cases like a window blowing up and the mayhem that ensues.

Still FAs ought to control themselves. Makes passengers even more scared than they should.

Was it really FAs plural or one of them/
