*apologies in advance if this is dupe info!*
i didn't see it addressed here, but ALL fare classes should now be bookable by most travel agents on sabre, including tango. great news as this gives added flexibility!

Welcome to Flyertalk, ovenking!
On top of that, those fares are also bookable by calling AC reservations. (Guess I should update the initial posts & remove the 'online only' part)

thanks empress! i found the site a week ago and what a great resource it's been! ^
i thought it was good info to share with the community. i just hope AC never tries to impose a booking fee on reservations made through either travel agents or through their reservations centre, which is what NW tried a month or two ago before they got shot down.

Status Miles on Fun?
There seems to be a strange ambiguity on the Air Canada website regarding mileage accumulation with various fares.
In the little table (ironically titled '5 clear options to suit your needs'), it says that Fun fares accumulate: "50% non-status(within Canada) 100% status (between Canada and USA)", but if you scroll down to the detailed explanation, it says "Accumulate 50% of miles flown for travel within Canada (min. 250 Aeroplan Miles). Accumulate 100% of miles flown for travel between Canada and the USA".
In the Tango description, both parts make clear that the miles are non-status, but in the Fun description it says non-status in one place and status in the other.
If the Fun within Canada fares only earn non-status, that's a crime. It's bad enough that they penalize within-Canada travellers with the 50% reduction, but then to make them non-status. Give me a break. I understand that they have to give 100% miles on US transborder flights because their partners do, but now they are double-penalizing their own loyalty program members.
Can anyone clarify?

Go to the official page: https://www.aeroplan.com/en/collect/air_air_canada.jsp
and you will see it is quite clear that Fun collects status miles in Canada. Only Tango fares are non-status.

That part, the number of miles earned on each fare, is clear.
What is not clear, is whether Fun fares earn status miles.
Oh wait, I just double-checked the AC website and the ambiguity has been corrected, now at the top it says:
50% status (within Canada) 100% status (between Canada and USA)
and at the bottom it says...
Aeroplan Status Miles
Accumulate 50% of miles flown for travel within Canada (min. 250 Aeroplan Miles).
Accumulate 100% of miles flown for travel between Canada and the USA, on all scheduled flights operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Jazz as well as Air Canada code-share flights operated by Air Creebec, Air Georgian Limited (doing business as Air Alliance), Air Labrador, Calm Air, Central Mountain Air, and Pacific Coastal. (min. 500 Aeroplan Miles).

Eco segments on CRWSTAR 1/2/3
I have a CRWSTAR1 coming up in late January, my flight YYZ-YVR is booked in "C" accordingly, but I have also a segment YVR-YYJ in Eco. I know that this is only a 39 miles flight, but my question applies to all AC flights within a *A RTW on which no "C" is offered:
I remember from my past *A RTW's that these Eco segments were booked in Y (and I received 25% COS), now my TA told me that AC and UA changed their policy and these flights have to be booked in "H" on AC and "B" on UA , which would be the "next lowest *A RTW booking class", as he put it. "H" belongs to the "FUN-fares" which only earn 50% status miles, but I technically do not buy a "FUN-fare", but a biz RTW-fare. Has anybody heard of this change? Do I get at least 100% status miles because my flight is part of an international itinerary or do I only get 50% status miles?

Unfortunately, it is true--here is the note in the RTW rule:
"Note 5 In Business class, if C not offered/available on AC, book S class and if neither C nor S offered book H."

Thank you very much for your quick reply - Just too bad, I believe I have to accept my fate...
By the way, my RTW includes a very tiny MR YVR-YEG-YVR on January 30, 2005 - AC 236 & AC 241. I will happily donate a pair of SSWUs to upgrade somebody on these flights.
