Mileage for MIA to GIG
Hello Empress i need your help. I have booked a flight from MIA-GIG-MIA with Varig in W class. I am an AC elite, will I be getting miles ?
Empress I made a mistake and i guess no miles at all, I verified with Varig, it is T class and not W, so i am screwed not even regular mileage let alone status miles.

is there a limit to the number of people an elite, or prestige member can upgrade besides themselves? I've always assumed they can only upgrade themselves plus one guest, but I've seen many cases where that's not the case

Well I guess in this modern day AC world that's the case, I can think of at least 2 occasions where my family of 4 all got upgraded, it was only from YVR - YYC on CP, and this was when my dad was the equivalent level of prestige. We had to wait until the gate, but we got 4 upgrades, and everytime we did it J was definately full. Those agents actually cared about the pax.

I say that, because anytime I have to travel (eg for business) across the Atlantic, and if the most economical business class seat can be purchased (often, depending upon various restrictions of the ticket) is a C class ticket, I would intentionally often go on the Star Alliance partner, with the 25% COS bonus, rather than on AC, with no such COS bonus.

I would assume that there are not only a few people thinking this way...
