Hi,

I am planning a trip to Madrid from YUL in June.

I have 2 choice:

1.AC book in Q and V
2.LX (Swiss) book in Q (Should be in *)

What is the Aeroplan: 0%, 50%, 100%???

Thanks,

aad665

All the above will earn you 100% status miles (provided your LX flight is on/after Apr 1 as that's the date they're officially joining *A).

FYI, LX accumulation -

F, A, C, D, Z, J, Y, B, M, H, U, Q, V, G, K, S- 100% of miles flown with a minimum of 500 miles

L, T, W - 50% of miles flown with a minimum of 250 miles

What is the booking code for AVENUE awards so that I can check inventory on Expertflyer and KVS?

avenue awards are simply economy seats that you pay more miles for and are classed as W for booking purposes

Check for L>1 or P>1 for Avenue Rewards!

In my experience, I found a close correlation to L and P classes, at least on domestic flights. It worked out to the following:

Any flight with L>1 or P>1 would list as an Avenue Reward in Aeroplan.com!

Never been 'confirmed' though by anyone. Wish someone would say something!

Booking classes

Hi FT folks,

Sorry if this is a total newbie question, but I've done a search and read back a few months worth of posts. Here goes...how do you tell what fare class you're booking in if you book online? I can't find anywhere on ac.com that tell you what class you're selecting. Or are all the variants only available through travel agents?

Thanks for solving the mystery for me!

cc

You no longer can. See this thread for more information.

If you are talking about international flights, the last column on the right says "Class". That is the booking class. Of course then it is up to you to know the limitations associated with the booking class.

Within North America booking class doesn't really matter as it is all based on Tango, TangoPlus, Lattitude and LattitudePlus.

International Flights - and U and A classes

On non-transborder international flights, I understand that U class tickets are the cheapest upgrade ones, at the time of purchase (with a SWU). I understand that A class tickets are the cheapest ones upgradeable with a SSWU.

However, it seems to me that certain routes offer these 2 fares, but not all routes? Is that correct?

I'm thinking of getting a student ticket YYZ Amsterdam

Will i get aeroplan points on this?

Nope. No points for Z class tickets (which is the fare code that Travelcuts, STA et al. book their student tickets in).

Yes and Yes. Most international destinations still go by the traditional YMBHVQ... U and A were pioneered in AC's "simplified" fares to LHR and have since been extended to a few other European destinations.

I must be dreaming... My travel agent booked me H class on SFO-YYZ-YOW. Does this really mean I can use my SWUs?
