Good resource. I wish though that AC would have something that'd display the booking class on the site (ala UA/BD), as the fare 'label' doesn't help me so much (eg. SAS EB & its 25% credit for low economy fares).

FAQ - booking classes

DOMESTIC FLIGHTS

** You will see the categories that I used below when you book online. It'll show you the booking class on the flight summary page.

TANGO
These are booked in R, I, N, G, P, E, T booking class (otherwise known as PIGRENT!) :p .
They earn 50% Aeroplan miles but they do not count towards your status (re)qualification.
Change fee is $30 (+ fare difference if your booking class is not available).
Bookable as one way.
No standby permitted.
Changes can be made on the day of departure at the airport for $150CAD/$120USD without additional fare difference collection.
NON-refundable.
Non-upgradeable.
1 Aeroplan mile for every $3 spent at aircanada.com
NO free advance seat selections. $15/$12 USD extra for advance seat selection.

TANGO PLUS
These are booked in A, B, H, V, Q, L booking class.
They earn 100% Aeroplan miles and do count towards your status (re)qualification.
Change fee is $30 (+ fare difference if your booking class is not available).
Bookable as one way.
No standby permitted.
Changes can be made on the day of departure at the airport for $50CAD/$40USD
NON-refundable.

LATITUDE
These are booked in U,M booking class.
They earn 100% Aeroplan miles and do count towards your status (re)qualification.

U is the least expensive and M is the most expensive within this category.

LATITUDE PLUS
These are booked in Y booking class.
They earn 100% Aeroplan status miles + 25% class of service premium.
Free changes.
Available online or via reservations.
Bookable as one way.

Even though this is an Economy class fare, you can check in at J class counters and get priority baggage tags.

Latitude: M/U class will earn 100% status miles.

Tango Plus: A/B/H/V/Q/L class will earn 100% status miles.

Tango: E/N/T/P/R/I/G class will earn 50% non status miles.

OTHERS non online only fares

Z – 0 Aeroplan miles. No standby permitted and not upgradeable.

D/W - standby allowed. Not upgradeable. No Aeroplan miles. (This is the booking classes for award business class (D) and award economy class (W)
If the domestic flight is part of an international or transborder itinerary, the above rules applies to the domestic/transborder segment only.

The change/cancellation policy of fare is dependent on the fare basis, not the booking class.

NOTE:

One major misunderstanding about fare classes:

Only international/transborder M class can be upgraded at time of booking, a pure domestic flight booked in M can only be upgraded at 7/4/2 days prior to departure depending on your status (unless it is a connection to/from an international flight).

J - Full Fare Business Class. 100% Aeroplan status miles + 25% class of service premium that counts towards status.

C - Upgraded Business Class or Discount Business Class on selected routes. 100% Aeroplan status miles. S - Super Comfort Class. It's available on routes which they do not distinguish between J & Y. (YYZ-MAN/GLA...) You can pay more to buy S class so you get a J seat but Y service. 100% Aeroplan status miles. Status members can use their upgrade certificate to upgrade to S class (H or higher using regular systemwides & L or higher using special systemwides)

M - Close to full fare Economy Class. Upgradeable for all tiers at time of booking with Regular or Special Systemwides. 100% Aeroplan status miles. [Exception: Flights to/from Caribbean, Bahamas Bermuda only earn 75% Aeroplan status miles.]

B, H - Discounted Economy Class. Upgradeable for all tiers on international flights with Regular or Special Systemwides. 100% Aeroplan status miles. [Exception: Flights to/from Caribbean, Bahamas Bermuda only earn 75% Aeroplan status miles.]

T - Discounted Economy class. Not upgradeable. 100% Aeroplan status miles.

Z - for tour wholesalers (such as cruise lines or AC Vacations) where the airfare is sold as part of a tour package. Not eligible for upgrades by any tiers. No Aeroplan regular/status miles.

"I" booking class will now be replaced with "K" in the Tango fares.

And then some... (check DO details/minutes for more info when it comes out...)

Anyone know what class Air Miles Reward tickets are booked in?

I searched the booking class thread prior to posting and could not find any reference to Air Miles Reward booking class.

I meant 'see that link for more details on the Z-class itself' :).
