There are still some YUL-YTZ, so maybe I could have made it work, but it felt risky. I do need to get where I'm going.
I would think that's for the best, easier to find your way once you are in EU vs stuck in YYZ

Looks like YXU was completely thrown overboard by AC. All flights were canceled yesterday. Today and tomorrow looks the same. Also Monday's first flight to YYZ is canceled. So I had to take a cab home yesterday. Will have to take a cab to YYZ tomorrow. Hopefully, everything goes well for the rest of the next week, as I'm arriving back home Wednesday and departing again Friday.
The reason for the cancelation is weather. I don't know how the weather looks like in Malton, but here in London is cold and sunny with blue skies. Since when temperatures around -20C are preventing aircraft from flying?

Surprised you risk YXU. I hadn't flown out of YXU since before Covid, I drive to YYZ and a co-worker convinced me to try on our trip to GRU last November. Guess what, flight delayed...miss connection. Never flying YXU ever again. 90min drive to YYZ is much better,

Not sure why they don't add YXU to the Bus Service? You would think it would be much more comfortable and reliable than what they offer now, not to mention the amount of $$ they must have to spend to accommodate PAX who are the subject of delays and cancellations.

They are proactively cancelling flights for tomorrow... The weather looks fine in the morning but my mother's 8am YYZ-YOW is also affected...

Because our very well built highway is slow and dangerous due to idiotic driver behaviour. For me the drive is always over 2 hours long. Also, the number of missed connections I had lately is in low single digits per year while flying 100+ segments per year. I guess I just picked the wrong week to make several short trips. Well, actually, I didn't. I go where I'm told to go.
If I ever start driving to a more distant airport, it won't be YYZ as 95% of my flying is transborder. But then I'll post on a different forum as well.

I would expect that with the ongoing pilot shortage at Chorus YXU would be a prime candidate for the bus service. After all, YXU is closer than YGK that has bus service.
OTOH I definitely wouldn't like the fact that I'd have to manipulate my checked luggage at YYZ. Some of the stuff I travel with is quite heavy.

Would you? I was under the impression that one checked their luggage before getting onto the bus and didn't see it again until destination. If that's not the case, I agree major drawback, or an area for improvement.

I suppose in your case you could always drive to YKF and catch the bus from there which takes away the worst part of the drive from there to YYZ.

YVR-EWR was cancelled for Sunday. I am supposed to go Monday - hopefully it goes out (though I recognize NYC is gonna be a mess).

I've made a couple of YHM-YYZ-YHZ flights. Yes, you check your luggage in at the originating airport, and the AC agent and driver load it on the bus. AT YYZ, you pick up your luggage as it is unloaded from the bus and then trundle it up via elevator to the tagged luggage drop-off belt at YYZ. So, it's not really not seeing t again until destination. Having said that, though, I have no complaints about the bus.

That doesn't sound like the best system. Like, would it kill them to have someone meet the bus with a cart and take all of the checked luggage?

I am flying PUJ-YUL-YYZ.

My YUL-YYZ is cancelled for today.

The online rebooking tool broke and email says nothing available for 3 days(sure! Lol). Had to call in.

I am now on the 5PM YUL YYZ tomorrow, the agent on the phone said no hotel voucher. Does anyone know if E50K will be treated any different here? Should I not book hotel until I got into YUL? What are the chances the elite desks will grant me a voucher?

This flight was booked with AC Giftcard so no credit card insurance

I was once told by AC agents that 75k and higher will get a hotel room even when the misconnect is not caused by AC. I don't know if this is true or not, but they work for the airline at the airport.

I was granted hotel voucher and Uber in YUL during the Delta crash at YYZ last year though.

YYZ-PBI.

Inbound from Ottawa went to 132. We were departing 153. Then, they closed off the swing gates. It sat there for two hours before a tug showed up to move it to 153.

Bizarro land here at times.

This is how departures to the USA look like today:

My flight is still a go. I hope we will really fly.
