The problem is that she doesn't have any 2024 upgrades, since there hasn't been a lot of flying!

She's got the basic TD card; if she goes for the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite, is it likely these will qualify for the 50 e-upgrade rollover?

Should do!

Significant benefit difference between 35k and 75k.
If you haven’t already, I’d look at $$ shortfall, next year’s expected travel and decide if an SQD run is worth it.

Sorry bumping this to see if anyone knows the answer to this

You rollover whatever is above the awarded status.

The awarded status in which year? I will be awarded 35K status in 2023 and will be awarded 50K status somewhere between Jan 4 and Jan 10, 2024 (based on reports in the chase card thread). Also from that thread, it appears I will receive the 35K benefits at the beginning of the year and then the 50K benefits when the bump up is processed so I will definitely only be 35K at the end of 2023. That means that when the SQM expire, I will be 35K. When they are returned, I could be 35K or 50K, depending on which of the rollover benefit or the bump up benefit processes first.

Sorry, I think I have found my answer for myself, after being challenged to think through it all on here. Here is the terms for the rollover:
"Primary Cardholders who also hold Aeroplan Elite Status can roll over up to 200,000 Status Qualifying Miles (SQM) beyond the status level for which they’ve qualified, from the prior qualification year."
That would appear to mean that I will rollover everything above the 35K level that I will be at on December 31

Has there been any talk from AC of improved rollover timelines for eupgrades in 2024? I have a latitude fare booked Feb 8 that I would like to try to upgrade but need the rollover to post before then. Wondering the probability of this.

Likely any credits you get from your core / select benefits from 2024 qualification will post first, unless you have threshold credits upcoming, in which case they now expire in January 2025.

per https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/...vements.html#/
If you are the Primary Cardholder of an eligible Aeroplan premium credit card**, we will automatically roll over your eligible Status Qualifying Miles and eUpgrade Credits to 2024. Any rollover Status Qualifying Miles or eUpgrade Credits that apply to your cardholder status will be posted to your account separately by the second week of February.

To be eligible for the rollover benefits, Aeroplan Elite Status Members who are not already cardholders must apply and be approved for a new Aeroplan premium credit card no later than December 15, 2023.

Thanks for the info and link! I have 20 credits earned by reaching 25k status in May so they “expire” this year. So I can’t use credits until they rollover, which appears to be in mid-Feb after my flight, guess I am SOL on this one! I do have 5 credits from select benefits that are good to 2025 but I need 6 for me + wife + daughter, my luck .

Do not lose all hope, the e-ups look like they started rolling over in the last week of January in 2023, so you might just barely squeeze them in for your trip. But I think you are missing something important. I might be wrong, but if you qualified for 25K in May, then you will be 25K to start 2024 and will get a batch of e-ups at the beginning of January.

Ohh jeez I thought you only get the 20 per reaching qualification, so I thought would need to qualify again in 2024 to get another 20, not get 20 every year I hold status. Thanks! (I chose the username I did for a reason )

Looking at going for SE in 2024.

Have read this thread & AE site for qualifying for Elite status.

Currently Elite via Million Miler. If by March earn 9K SQD & 70K SQM having read posts on this thread I will get early recognition . I will be going for SE; hope to qualify for SE with 20K SQD & 250SQM by Sept 2024.

1. Will I be able to roll over 150K or 200K ?

I do not have AC CC. Will I have to get Premium CC card by end of this year or I can wait until 2024 to see bonus offers.

2. Will I be able to Roll over & bank 250K for SE status in the future or is it one or the other.

3. If I roll over SQM 150K for 2025. & are allowed to bank 250K for future SE end of 2024. In 2025 with SQM 150K roll over available in 2025 & SQD 20K & 200KSQM ending the year 2025 with 350K SQM will I be able to bank 250K SE & have 2 SE banked end of 2025?

I was in your situation last year - would have actually earned 50K but got awarded 75K due to AMEX extension promo. I rolled over SQM assuming I earned 50K

If you are looking to roll over 2024 SQM to 2025, you can get your card next year. If you end 2024 with 250k SQM and qualified for SE, then it's 250k-100k = 150k rolled over.

2. Will I be able to Roll over & bank 250K for SE status in the future or is it one or the other.
The threshold rewards are independent. If you hit 250k, you get the banked year threshold reward but it does not affect how many SQM you have or how many you get to roll over.

The maximum you can roll over is 200k SQM. You will have 2 banked years of SE.

Thankyou very much for your valuable input much appreciated.
Will go for SE. I have $5K of TC I can use to book UA flights & credit to AE & earn SQM & icing on the cake used 600P+ points to upgrade to International Business !!!
Now to decide which AC Premium card to go for.
