Important Event Notes - FAQ
  • Wait, isn't it winter in December in YYC?
Technically it's still fall until December 21st, so I can still call this a fall Do. But yes, it's likely to be winter conditions. It's YYC in December, after all

  • Don't you know it's Christmas party season, you jerk? No way I can get away / I won't be able to get a babysitter / it's possible that Uber will have surge pricing later in the evening.
My Christmas party is the night before and I have no kids, so it works just fine for me

  • Will I be able to enjoy a delectable menu with a flair for International cuisine, fine wines, and unequalled service?
No. There will be no hockey puck beef. The pastas won't all have spinach. There will be great booze. And the service will be good. And no Random capital Letters (outside of this Sentence).

Important Event Notes (real ones this time!)
  • The burger and Scotch theme is purely optional. Those are the specialties of the restaurant, but you're free to have a salad and a diet Coke, fish and white wine or whatever floats your boat.
  • There will likely be a deal on some Scotch tasting flights - details TBD.
  • The Do host has not achieved Dorian's level of wealth and generosity. No T-shirts or other swag will be provided. Unless people want some AC pens, I have a bunch of those lying around. Or unless yyznomad shows up with some of his headphones and other goodies.

Alas, family arrives on the 7th and I have not seen them in a long time. Tough one to skip out of.
I'm with you on this one. Traveling is so much harder with family commitments

No, this will be operated within the AC1600 to AC1799 scope. In the unlikely event if an overbooking passengers will be denied boarding based on a rock paper scissors. In the event of a defective seat, a passenger being disruptive, touching radio controls, or asking if we are there yet passenger will be offloaded mid-trip. In the event equipment needs de-icing before departure, a non revenue passenger will be picked at random to perform this service.

Or just do like AC does in SCL - park it in the sun for 45 minutes.

Yes, really.

I know, beautiful six lanes but only 100 KM/h! Should be 120KM/h

Last summer i had my bike rack attached with two bikes and passed two photo radar vehicles at 130 KM/h - Yup no tickets Speed should be 120 KM/H

So I'll be bringing 50+ AC menus, a few unused London 2012 trinkets/souvenirs (don't worry, no kitschy bunting), a handful of the Y earphones (I think I gave most of them away already so only a handful remaining), some older AC notepads (from 2011/2012/2013?), some AC wallpaper... that's the list so far... Any requests? Can't guarantee I'll have it though.

I think I've already given away or "ransacked"/"plundered" all of my old ten/15-year-old amenity kits.

Oh believe me, I tried, but closing shop a couple hours early Saturday and bailing on Sunday weren't seen as viable options.

PS. I even looked at the viability of a WS flight from YKA Still no dice.

LOL I think if I run around stabbing people with needles in Alberta I may run into some regulatory issues ... fair game here in BC, but there it'd be straight up assault.

Yes, indeed I am getting a ride from YEG4MM (I'm sure he would be the only 4MM now (aside from the 5MMer... I wonder if it is @5mm )).
@HerpaYvr upthread I accepted a ride offer from @YEG_SE4Life since you still weren't 100% on your plans and I didn't want to get in the way!

Okay, now this is a few months premature, if you are talking about the guy I think you're talking about.

Well I'm triple booking myself for the night, but Wife's company Christmas Party doesn't start until 1900 and its in the area. Count WR Cage and Mrs WR Cage onto the list. Will come a little early, might have to file a flight plan with a 17:30 arrival; Hopefully we don't get sent to Bovingdon and instead go direct to EGLL.

Man, that was harder than it should of been.

Somehow when my eUp cleared for the flight to YYC it caused my original flight to become two - one confirmed into J, and one in Y that was was waitlisted. Only figured this out when I went to select seats, or not in this case.

After 15 minutes on hold (apparently there's nastiness afoot in Central Canada) the Rez agent fixed things and I had confirmed seats.

Who would have thought YYC was so hard to get to? I need a drink. And the pipers, they are a callin'.
