Important Event Notes - FAQ
  • Wait, isn't it winter in December in YYC?
Technically it's still fall until December 21st, so I can still call this a fall Do. But yes, it's likely to be winter conditions. It's YYC in December, after all

  • Don't you know it's Christmas party season, you jerk? No way I can get away / I won't be able to get a babysitter / it's possible that Uber will have surge pricing later in the evening.
My Christmas party is the night before and I have no kids, so it works just fine for me

  • Will I be able to enjoy a delectable menu with a flair for International cuisine, fine wines, and unequalled service?
No. There will be no hockey puck beef. The pastas won't all have spinach. There will be great booze. And the service will be good. And no Random capital Letters (outside of this Sentence).

Important Event Notes (real ones this time!)
  • The burger and Scotch theme is purely optional. Those are the specialties of the restaurant, but you're free to have a salad and a diet Coke, fish and white wine or whatever floats your boat.
  • There will likely be a deal on some Scotch tasting flights - details TBD.
  • The Do host has not achieved Dorian's level of wealth and generosity. No T-shirts or other swag will be provided. Unless people want some AC pens, I have a bunch of those lying around. Or unless yyznomad shows up with some of his headphones and other goodies.

YYC Fall Do - 3rd Annual Burgers & Scotch evening - December 8, 2018

It's that time of year again! Well, a bit later than usual, but I had a wedding to attend on the weekend I would have normally arranged this, so here we are...

See Wiki for details.

The cow is 85% probable right now.

But seriously, "Don't you know it's Christmas party season, you jerk?"

Unfortunately, my company holiday party is the night before. Fortunately, I like Adam and burgers more than my employer. And I can probably handle it. SFO-YYC is frequent, right?

p.s. R and I should be ahead of OEN in the list.
p.p.s. Can you open up some Y so I can do a comp-up to J?

That's a decent start. I've taken the liberty of adding you to the list.

P.S. @SearsTower and @folkart, I've also added you as maybes, based on our conversations during our recent encounters

Ah, but when you live in Lotusland everything East of the Continental Divide is suspect much past October 1st.

And yes, we are wimps in YVR and like our snow in very specific locales.

I would love to attend but the date conflicts with my spouse's Christmas party which I'm required to attend.

I put my name on the list. Of course I do, currently, have a warmer destination booked, but I really do want to say hi to you folks.

Please add myself and Mrs YYC3722 to the list. She has agreed to take a break from the warm and come for a visit.

It is a shame that you can't quote the "likes" too because CC liked that comment and if that ain't the pot calling the kettle black, I don't know what is. SFO may be the worst city in NA for weather related delays.

I think that Cow just has a 50% like quota in this thread.

It's more the irony that I'm going to be screwed on both ends. Two days in a row.

It's rare that I actually agree with everything everyone says in a thread
