Important Event Notes - FAQ
  • Wait, isn't it winter in December in YYC?
Technically it's still fall until December 21st, so I can still call this a fall Do. But yes, it's likely to be winter conditions. It's YYC in December, after all

  • Don't you know it's Christmas party season, you jerk? No way I can get away / I won't be able to get a babysitter / it's possible that Uber will have surge pricing later in the evening.
My Christmas party is the night before and I have no kids, so it works just fine for me

  • Will I be able to enjoy a delectable menu with a flair for International cuisine, fine wines, and unequalled service?
No. There will be no hockey puck beef. The pastas won't all have spinach. There will be great booze. And the service will be good. And no Random capital Letters (outside of this Sentence).

Important Event Notes (real ones this time!)
  • The burger and Scotch theme is purely optional. Those are the specialties of the restaurant, but you're free to have a salad and a diet Coke, fish and white wine or whatever floats your boat.
  • There will likely be a deal on some Scotch tasting flights - details TBD.
  • The Do host has not achieved Dorian's level of wealth and generosity. No T-shirts or other swag will be provided. Unless people want some AC pens, I have a bunch of those lying around. Or unless yyznomad shows up with some of his headphones and other goodies.

I think you're both overestimating the value of being in J in IRROPs. As an SE in upgraded Latitude, I can't think of the last time I couldn't get what I wanted in terms of IRROPs handling.

Also, due to popularity of the Do, the restaurant is basically at capacity. If there are any last-minute joiners, please let me know and I'll see if we can work something out, but fair warning that there may not be room.

Likewise, if there's anybody who can't make it, please advise.

Sounds like a full house.

Looking forward to meeting the 'legends' and the rest of the FT gang.

Do we need an E75K to pick one up and bring it as a gift to SEs?

I'm about 50% for keeping upgrades in IRROPS.

I'm about 95% for keeping paid J in IRROPS.

I didn't realise that collecting tribute from lesser elites was a benefit. Is that new for the 2019 program, or have I been missing out for years?

Good point.

What's the point of being 'Elite" if you are not ... umm .. really, elite? Or super for that matter?

But I thought I saw something like this as part of 'Bundle 2' on my 2019 Select Privileges. I will go back and check.

There was something in a thread, a year or 2 ago, about E50Ks polishing the shoes of SEs on their way through J, I think. I thought we could just add this.

What? You have no desire to be part of AC's new High Profile traveller program?

I have learned over the years that sometimes its best to keep your head down and simply have a low profile

The benefits and stuff I get, I enjoy and there is no need to brag about it

I'm not sure what that means, but I've put your name on the list so that the bouncers will let you in.

And possibly E35s in DOM and TB lounges?
