For the record, I did not get an email. I just searched the Play Store for it.

p.s. I like how they released an app that says "(Unreleased)" in the name.

Google literally supports beta testing for apps that would prevent the above link from working without opting in after being invited. But no, they do it this way.
Since you already know that the FP system is different, it must have a different interface... clearly. duh.

Maybe your grandma received an invitation.

Not at all.

Right now, there's no good way to use a FP on mobile.

Why revamp the desktop experience when there is no mobile experience?

The app crashed the first time I opened it, before it was even fully running. So, par for the course for AC

Does AC only have one guy who does everything?

I have some FP flights booked next weekend that I want to cancel due to other commitments. But apparently that's not possible on the app. Given that flexibility is one of the big selling points of flight passes, this is a huge hole in the app.

0.2.0 was released today.

It looks more polished.
It now requires Android 5.0 instead of 4.4 (god I'm jealous of that - I'm waiting for when I can make that jump at work).

The app is leaking IntentReceivers.

Edit: Some of the errors may have been on my end.

It now has seat selection and complimentary upgrades for Latitude passes, including confetti raining from the top of the screen when you confirm the upgrade.

Edit 2: Here's some screenshots of these new features: https://photos.app.goo.gl/vTauKB99AmHLCb4T2

I really haven't bothered to use the app in the nearly six months I've had it. It just didn't have enough functionality to justify the hassle of using it versus doing it on desktop.

How exactly does the comp up feature work?

A button shows up within 2 days of departure. You click it. It upgrades you (or not? I didn't test on a flight that was J0). Then it rains confetti from the top of the screen to celebrate.

It now doesn’t stay current with the number of credits you have. Cute. I didn’t try making a booking with a pass the app thinks I have credits on but is in fact used up. Pretty serious issue...

Is this just on Android? I can't find it anywhere in the Apple App Store

Never mind, found the link to signup: http://flyac.ca/iosbeta/Default?lang=EN

On iOS, you have to be explicitly invited (I think that's because Apple doesn't have "open betas"?).

Hopefully one of the lurkers will PM you

All it asked for was my email address:

"You have successfully registered in the beta program for the Air Canada Flight Pass app.

Space permitting, you will receive an email in the next few hours with instructions to download the beta app.

We look forward to your feedback!
"

Next few hours..... hilarious!

Oh nice, I didn't realize they had easy-access now. Time to turn this into a wiki!
