Air Canada / rouge W17 Mexico/Caribbean changes

Air Canada in recent weeks gradually updated planned operation to Mexico and the Caribbean, for winter 2017/18 season. A number of routes will receive additional capacity, as well as service switching back to Mainline operation.

Calgary – Cancun eff 04NOV17 1 weekly 767 rouge service, replacing A319 in W16

Calgary – Huatulco eff 06NOV17 NEW 1 weekly 767 rouge service

Calgary – Los Cabos eff 29OCT17 NEW 1 weekly Mainline A320 service

Calgary – Puerto Vallarta eff 02NOV17 1 weekly 767 rouge service, replacing A319 in W16

Montreal – Cancun 9 weekly service in winter season operated by rouge 767, replacing mix of A319/767 in W16

Montreal – Nassau eff 20DEC17 Mainline A320 replaces rouge A319, increase from 1 to 2 weekly

Montreal – Punta Cana eff 19DEC17 5 weekly A321 and 2 weekly 767 rouge service, replacing 1 daily A319 in W16

Ottawa – Cancun eff 21DEC17 Increase from 2 to 3 weekly, Mainline A320 service

Ottawa – Puerto Plata eff 20DEC17 NEW 1 weekly Mainline A320 service, subject to government approval

Ottawa – Punta Cana eff 19DEC17 Increase from 1 to 2 weekly, Mainline A320 service

Toronto – Cayo Coco eff 19DEC17 Increase from 4 to 5 weekly, rouge A319 service

Toronto – Holguin eff 20DEC17 Increase from 2 to 3 weekly, rouge A319 service

Toronto – Punta Cana 1 daily rouge 767 service, replacing A321 in W16

Vancouver – Los Cabos Mainline A320 replacing rouge 767 in W16, increase from 1 to 3 weekly from 18DEC17

Vancouver – Puerto Vallarta Mainline A320 replacing rouge 767 in W16, increase from 2 to 4 weekly from 19DEC17

Air Canada W17 Vancouver – Delhi service changes

Air Canada in winter 2017/18 season plans to expand service on Vancouver – Delhi route, including planned operational schedule changes. The seasonal service is set to resume on 14OCT17 with 3 weekly flights, however service will increase to 4 weekly (Day x136 from YVR, Day x247 from DEL) with schedule shifting to daytime departure and arrivals from 31OCT17. Between 04DEC17 and 31JAN18, the airline will further expand to 5 weekly service.

This route is operated by Boeing 787-9. Schedule listed below is effective from 04DEC17 to 31JAN18.

AC044 YVR1130 – 1510+1DEL 789 x36
AC045 DEL1720 – 1815YVR 789 x47

Flights from Yellowknife to Vancouver will depart at 7:30 a.m. MT and arrive at 8:53 a.m. PT, while flights from Vancouver to Yellowknife will depart at 4:00 p.m. PT and arrive at 7:30 p.m. MT.

Air Canada in summer 2018 season is planning to offer Montreal – Tokyo Narita service, its 4th route between Canada and Tokyo. Based on inventory listing, the Star Alliance member’s Boeing 787-8 aircraft will operate this route from 01JUN18 from Montreal, on daily basis.

AC005 YUL1405 – 1550+1NRT 788 D
AC006 NRT1730 – 1630YUL 788 D

Toronto – Tokyo Narita flight number will switch from AC005/006 to AC019/020 from the same day, based on current listing.

VANCOUVER, Aug. 31, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Air Canada announced today the strategic expansion of its international network from Vancouver with new services launching June 2018 to Paris and Zurich, and the start of year-round flights to Melbourne. All flights will be available for purchase starting September 6 at aircanada.com or through travel agents.

In addition, Air Canada is increasing its non-stop Delhi flights from Vancouver that resume October 14, with up to five times weekly service for the 2017/2018 season, and increasing its London-Heathrow service with twice-daily flights for summer 2018.

Air Canada Feb 2018 Toronto - Asia aircraft changes

Air Canada in recent schedule update adjusted planned effective period for its scheduled aircraft changes, between Toronto and Seoul and Tokyo. Previously, the airline scheduled aircraft change from 31JAN18 to 04MAR18, however this has been revised to 01FEB18 – 28FEB18 (YYZ departure).

Planned changes as follow.

Toronto – Seoul Incheon 777-300ER replaces 787-9, 1 daily

Toronto – Tokyo Haneda 787-9 replaces 777-300ER, 1 daily

Not exactly ground breaking, but for their first time in years AC mainline is flying YYZ-IAH starting Nov 1st. 3x per day vs the current 4 and moving from a 175 to 195.

Air Canada in recent schedule update adjusted selected long-haul service from Montreal, mainly to the Middle East and Europe. Planned changes for summer 2018 season as follow.

Montreal – London Heathrow eff 01MAY18 Boeing 787-9 replaces A330-300/777-300ER (Previous plan: A330 in May, 777 from June). This reflected in yesterday’s schedule update

Montreal – Tel Aviv Reflected in previous schedule update, seasonal 2 weekly service operates with 787-8 instead of A330 in S17

Air Canada in winter 2017/18 season plans to increase capacity on Toronto – Hong Kong route, currently served by Boeing 777-200LR aircraft. From Toronto, following period will see larger -300ER (400-seater) operating on daily basis: 29OCT17 – 14NOV17, 15DEC17 – 31JAN18.

So glad to see the 777s being pulled from this prime route and the more prestigious Dreamliner service being restored.

Now Torontonians and other Ontarians won't have to choose between the more convenient HND airport or the better 787 metal (or should I say "composite material") on the NRT route!

It is for one month only (reduction in capacity to reflect demand).

The x means 'except'. So x246 means except days 2, 4, 6 (Tues, Thurs, Sat), therefore the flight operates on Mon, Wed, Fri, and Sun.
