At least Cow gets a response. I sent the same request to stop spamming and it went into some nether region of AC IT.

I even offered to be a beta tester.

For the record, I've been a professional Android app developer for about 6.8 years. Android has been available to consumers in Canada for 7 years 12 days.

My email to them was MUCH more than a report about the issue. It also told them how to fix it :p

Well at least they're "grouping" some notifications now.

But all these (10ish) came in within a 5 second interval.

I just got a ton of these notifications when I connected to wifi in-flight.

The booking reference is for the flight I'm on.

That is mildly concerning.

24 notifications in under 24 seconds.

Holy balls.

I will at least say, in favour of the new app, it's nice that it allows you to consolidate all of your bookings in one place. I still have had to add the PNRs manually, but currently on the app I have bookings made on ac.com as well as a UA booking with legs on AC and an AE reward for me booked from someone else's account.

Still a long way to go, but at least there's some progress.

I have had 67 notifications since boarding my SFO-YVR flight.

LEAVE ME THE HECK ALONE.

I KNOW WHAT GATE MY CONNECTION IS AT. YOU'VE TOLD ME OVER NINE THOUSAND TIMES.

Is this App worth downloading?

I've been using the UA one for the past couple of years. Haven't tried the AC one yet.

I think you're missing the dog whistle that ac and Google don't like each other.

I am on the S6. I enjoy the AC app. It works very well for me. I have not experienced the problems that the Google writer experiences. I fly multiple flights weekly and the app does appear to keep good record of them. Therefore, my answer would be yes.

Thanks! I'll download it and check it out.

I had to actually "silence" the notifications today. Luckily Android lets you do that. It no longer vibrates or chimes when they send me 40 notifications that my flight is about to start boarding.

canadiancow Aug 19, 2016 4:48 pm

Well the "rumors" are that N will be released on Monday, and the AC app still crashes on launch.
