New Android App
It is a separate download from the original app
Beautiful design, Android Wear for mobile BPs
I have no flights left this year to try it out but it is a MASSIVE upgrade from the old app
edit: Link to the new app

At least it works (OLCI checked just now) , but seems limited
- doesn't pull all my existing bookings in automatically
- no eupgrade options
- no summary of earned AQM, AQS (AQD) (although I guess those are Altitude features)

Laid out better than sucky iPhone app, same lack of functionality. Wonder when AC will join other airlines and produce proper app ( for any platform)
But as my own people told me you can't produce a good app if the rest of your online system sucks. Maybe why they finally got rid of flash for flight passes as it is dead for any sort of mobile functionality. Might be a sign of better things to come

Why did they change the package name?
Oh, because they picked a stupid one for their first app. That's why.
It realizes I'm SE though. That's a pretty good start.

At least it appears to have some functionality. The last one was useless.

Weird that they don't pull the old app from the store, otherwise there is a lot of confusion.
Also, what's the rationale of having to create a separate mobile+ login? Everything else just uses your Aeroplan number + password.

As a quick follow-up, I just wanted to say I'm liking the app a bit more two days after release. I booked a trip earlier today using AC's regular non-mobile website and discovered something interesting.
As I'd hoped, when I took a look at the app a bit later, the new booking showed up the "Your Flights" section. Not only that, but part of an itinerary that I booked with UA (departing this upcoming Monday) showed up the same section. This was a booking made in late November and I did not manually add it to the app. The trip is a mix of Rouge operated(UA flight number) and UA operated/flight number. My Aeroplan number is in the booking, but only one half of the itinerary shows up in the app (1 rouge operated and 1 UA operated flight). The return portion of the trip, which is in a couple of weeks, does not show up in the app.
It shows up a bit weirdly since the first segment on rouge is the departing flight, and the same day connection on UA is the "return" flight. I'll have to pay attention and see what the app does when I'm closer to my return trip. Either way, I liked that the app pulled down some booking info on a UA booked trip.

Is the return portion on UA by any chance? If yes this bit of the booking would not have made it to AC's system as they are not involved - unless the booking was done through them which I don't think is the case here.

It's not a complaint by any means since it's beyond any expectations since I wouldn't have thought the flight would show up without me manually entering the additional AC confirmation number provided to me by UA.

Hi i59bravo,
We're sorry to hear you had trouble checking in to your flight. Mobile Check-in experienced an unplanned outage last night at around the time of your posting. Service has since been restored. This was not an issue with the new Android app and was isolated to Mobile Check-in. We'd love it if you give the app a second try and if you have issues you can always reach out to us at [email protected].

The return has a rouge flight at the end, so AC is as involved on the inbound as they are on the outbound. Since I didn't add the outbound to the app but it made in anyway, I just find it curious that the inbound hasn't shown up.

We've received similar reports at [email protected] and we're currently planning a fix so your entire trip is viewable in the app.
Thank you,
