His suit was a not so subdued grey plaid. Long styling, very high collar shirt. That is how I recognized him, I think.
As to being not so noticeable, I'm not a big hockey fan, but recognized him when he came in and sat down right behind my co-worker and I. My co-worker IS a big hockey fan and went and introduced himself and got me to take a picture. He and his side-kick were quite pleasant to the people that bugged they.

Jack Layton and Olivia Chow were one row behind me across the aisle in economy on Wednesday, May 18 from YOW to YYZ. Senator Romeo Dallaire was one person ahead of me going through security as well but not on my flight
