FlyerTalk Forums Expert How-Tos and Guides
Last edit by: tcook052
This new annual thread has been carved out of the previous thread in an effort to reduce the number of megathreads on the AC forum. For those interested the original 2004 - 2014 thread on the topic may be found here.

That original thread started by accident but quickly became a popular place to come and discuss off topic things such as hockey, new movies, or almost anything that wouldn't fit into existing AC forum threads. More Air Canada or Aeroplan topics such as flight feedback, in-flight services issues or mileage earning/redemption are all topics that should go into existing AC forum threads so others can benefit from this information. Topics about other airline/hotel loyalty programs should be posted elsewhere on FT.

While the conversation is more relaxed as it would be in a lounge that doesn't mean however that the FT rules don't apply her as they definitely do so please refrain from controversial topics such as politics or religion, avoid profanities and treat other lounge patrons with the same respect you expect.

Everything else is negotiated. Have any of you negotiated your travel terms into your work contract?

Thanks
Everything is negotiable, but there are certain things that are very difficult to negotiate with a large organisation like yours. HR deals with salaries, benefits (insurance, health, etc), things like that. They typically have nothing to do with travel. And I doubt there's any way for them to directly link them.

If the guy were a senior executive, maybe it would be possible, but at a lower level, I suspect this is just too much hassle for them to do.

He can ask, but he'd probably have better luck just trying to get his salary increased by enough to pay out of pocket for the difference between whatever's in policy and what he wants to actually fly.

I was going to suggest the same thing.

But if the policy is "fly WS", it's hard for money to make that equal to "fly AC"

If the policy were "lowest fare", money can solve that.

I believe the policy at SAP's company is lowest fare, not WS. WS just usually ends up being the lowest fare.

Request: Have Oracle actually provide good customer support. After several, several years... I have surmised that their support is run by bonobo monkeys.

Which is beyond stupid. Amazon stockholders are stupid. I mean, REALLY? BILLIONS in revenue, and millions in profit.

Kindly F off Amazon.

Thanks for hiring Clarkson and team though

Amazon is playing a long game. There will be many of years of profitability after the last Best Buy closes its doors forever.
