Also, during boarding, none of the Y pax will be funneling through the front J portion, so there is more peace and quiet during the boarding process.

Family of four -- two adults and two children (teen and preteen) -- trying to figure out the best seats in J. Given the configuration and dividers I think we all want to be on the same aisle but the stagger is very confusing. We currently have 4G, 4K, 5G, 5K. Any thoughts would be welcome. Also available are rows 9-11 in the rear section on the A side (so, 9-11 A and D if we wanted four of those instead, such as 10A, 10D, 11A, 11D, etc.). Thanks in advance -- having never flown it, it is a bit difficult to envision, even with pictures.
The pods are close enough that you can peek over a seat and talk to each other. And it's nice to give everyone a window.

Do the refurbished planes have the new 18 inch screens for executive pods?
Booked an Aeroplan reward flight from YYZ-HND in December and was disappointed it’s not on a 787. Looks like all the planes are refurbished but wondering if that means the entertainment system too.

As indicated by the thread title above, all of the 777 versions have already been refurbished with the same Business Class pods that are on the 788s and 789s (although with less space)

There are 5 of us traveling in J -- two adults and 3 children (7, 6, 3) -- seeking comments on the best seats in J on the YYZ-PEK route. We've decided on sitting in the same aisle so we can attend to the kids, if necessary (the two eldest are pretty good to themselves).
I'm thinking of the back half of the forward J cabin in the G/K side to minimize disturbance and take 5K,6K,7K, and 5G, 6G. I don't mind having one window in 7K as long as we can minimize disturbance to others. We thought about the back half of the rear J cabin but decided against it due to the more 'open' space
Thoughts?

Paint jobs don't last nearly as long as seats, especially if you have a ready supply of duct tape.

There hasn't been anything official from AC. But unofficially from multiple insiders the A330s will now be refurbished to the 777/787 standard. Sounds like this will coincide with the introduction of the 4 additional A330s next year - coming from TAP, originally from SQ.

@ ACYYZ/SD - Can you elaborate on the logic behind the requirement? In my experience, it is much easier for a parent to reach across the aisle to assist a child, or to look across the aisle to monitor their child.

The masks that drop in an emergency have enough length to allow your to stand, reach over the back of the seat and assist the child in front of you with theirs. The same is not necessarily true for assisting someone seated across from you.

I have 2A booked for an upcoming flight to HND on a 777-300 (40J). Noticed that 1A has opened up. Is it worth switching or is it worse due to galley noise?
thanks!
thanks!
