Q: On the 787-9 (789), which seats in J are missing windows?
A: Rows 5 and 8 on both port and starboard sides have only one window, instead of two on all other port/starboard J seats.
Q: On the 787-8 (788), which seats in J are missing windows?
A: Only row 5 port and starboard sides have zero windows.
Q: Does the middle J seats' middle divider come down?
A: No, on the 788 and 789 the middle divider does not come down and is fixed in place. In fact, all Dream Cabin (788, 789, 77L, 77W) middle dividers are fixed and do not come down.

Well, they're certainly narrowing their focus. I can't think of another receptive, tech-saturated market in Canada that sees a lot of AC 787 service (and also a lot of international airline competition).Originally Posted by tcook052

Just wanted to thank you for this post. Originally Posted by vernonc

Apparently if you press the AC roundel on the seat adjustment screen, hold the roundel and enter code 3,2,1 followed by pressing the reset lumbar support, the seat re-inflates. He had to do it once more during flight as the seat deflated a bit over time. Not sure if the SD reset anything in the galley first. Wish I knew this on the outbound. There were two J seats with the hard seat issue and both were resolved using the same method above.
My mattress deflated twice on the 777 and I was able to reset it without getting the SD and waiting half hour for them to figure out how.
Air Canada now have 30, made up of 8 B787-8 and 22 B787-9.
Google suggests they're getting a total of 37, so 7 more to come?
Is that correct?

The best source of 787 information is the "All things 787" blog, here: http://nyc787.blogspot.ca/
That includes a link to a google spreadsheet that the author maintains, here:

From the "787 Current Production" tab, I see (only) 5 more 787's scheduled for AC, with delivery dates of:
2018-01-02
2018-01-29
2018-02-01
2018-05-01

As an aside, funny how the 67-based KC looks small now.
I know people search for this kind of info so I wanted to post my opinions as I just got off my first AC 787-8 flight.
Row 31 BC and HJ have unlimited leg room but people congregate in front of those seats to use the bathroom and stretch/stand. I find that annoying so I chose row 18 seat C. While Row 18 has the bulkhead, it stops short of Seat C and Seat H and you can stretch your legs out fully. If you are real tall you may need to move your feet back when they push the beverage/food carts through but it wasn't an issue for me at 6'4". I also felt there was a good amount of leg room even for the bulkhead seats in Row 18 AB/JK. Normally I hate bulkhead seats because while the knee room is better, you can't stretch your legs out. If i tried to stretch against the bulkhead I made it about 90% of the way which is good enough, if you aren't very tall these seats would be fine. The middle section in Row 18 has slightly less legroom and on both of my flights had families with infants seated there. I prefer seat C for row 18 as you can easily use the lavatory a few rows up in Premium Y. On the HJK side, a curtain is closed prior to the lav during flight and it seems you aren't supposed to use that one.

Thanks for your post and info.
On a recent B789, we went for a walk and discovered an empty Y cabin with "lie-flats"
Almost every single person in Y on that flight had an entire row of 3 seats to themselves. They put up the armrests, grabbed a blanket and had a bed. In Y. I was an impressive sight. I would think everyone realized they were extremely fortunate. In addition to the pax who were sleeping across 3, there were still many empty seats.
As for row 31 as per the post above, yes, lots of space. But also the green light, among others and well, yes, I can see where having a crowd of pax waiting for the lav might not be so enjoyable if one issuing there.

Completely agree. Sat a couple of times in 31K which is a great seat. I think my favourite in this plane on Y. The lights from the lav shine lots of light but its relatively easy to avoid.
I'm sitting in 18B on my next flight and really dislike middle seats, but its red eye and as long as leg room is decent I hope to still get a good sleep!
31 is my favourite row in Y. Even on a full plane Ive not found too many people congregating there as theres about 6 or more of room. I just stretch out and close my eyes.
The wing seats are a bit more restricted due to the doors.
If you booked 31B you may well find a couple offers to switch
Even if not though I love being able to use the washroom without crawling around other people. And not getting disturbed myself. Its basically like everyone has aisle access.
